Going for two weeks September/october. I can't wait. We were there last year and really enjoyed the place. it was so relaxed and laid back. We used the Lemon Tree Restaurant almost every night. The meals were excellent and really good value. Also had the best laugh ever when we watched the football in the Savanah bar, just around the corner from the restaurant. Hoping to explore the area a bit more this time with having two weeks :D Also went to Fethiye Market, which is enormous! And we took a boat trip around the bays. I'm not much of a swimmer but I was able to walk from the boat to the beaches and we had lunch in a very pretty bay. A great day out. I'm starting to ramble on now! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Hi Jilly

We were there last month and it was our first time,we had a great week(apart from frying :sun )it was touching 50c.

Try the Turkish Ivy restaurant(nr the phone booths),they do a set meal for £5.50 which was good, but there is loads of places to eat and drink.Be wary though of restaurants that do not have a drinks price list with the menu prices,we found that the drinks were more expensive than other places.

We also found that if you want to look in the shops(without them trying to sell you something)then the best time to do it was on an evening,we went out on a morning and you are a target as there wasn't many other people about.

If you like places with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops you will love it,my girlfriend said she would go back tomorrow because she loved it.

Basil.

Ovacik and Hisaronu are virtually the same place they are so close, both places are lovely. I agree with the comment on The Ivy, I had a great meal there. Also try The Suntrap and The Festival for a good mix of Turkish and English (if you want it)

We go on 27th July for 3 weeks staying at the Tumen hotel. We've been going to Hisaronu for about ten years now and love it and the surrounding area.
You must visit Olu deniz,Fethiye and the Greek village of Kaya.
There's so much to see and do - thats why we return year after year! Some friends and family came last year and loved it so much they are returning this year with even more people. About 42 at the last count!
Its nice that they all love it as much as we do.
Try the website http://www.hisaronu.co.uk for lots of information.
A must do is the jeep safari which is such a fun day out and also takes in the trout farm,Saklikent Gorge and the mud baths. Try Explora when booking trips, well recommended.
As for restaurants you cant go wrong - there is such a variety and we have really never had a bad meal. Personal favourites are Festival,Robin Hood,Olive Tree,Cin Bal at Kaya and the Secret Garden at Olu Deniz. But there are so many to choose from including Chinese,Indian,Italian.
Im sure you will have a wonderful time :D

Hi again

Thanks for all your tips. We are staying at the Mediterrean Apartments. I think they are a bit basic but can't grumble at the price we paid. Has anyone stayed there?

@ susien

Have you stayed at the Yalcin before?

We have twice and love the place. Its a small family run hotel and really friendly. You'll love it.

We still get christmas cards off them 3 years later...

4 of us will be in H from 20th August for 2 weeks!

Hi
Yes we know the Yalcins we stayed with them in 1989, and then went back last October.

Have booked their new apartment, go on Friday!!!

Love their Xmas cards!!!! Especially this years musical one!!

We have just been told today that our 16 year old daughter cannot travel with us to Hisaronu on Friday as she is still on my passport and because she is now 16 she needs an adult passport and the quickest turnaround is 2 to 3 weeks as it is her first passport on her own.

GUTTED is the word. We are still going and she is going to try and get a fligh out if her passport arrives in 2 weeks!!! But it has put a huge dampner on our holiday, especially as she was the one looking forward to it most as she has just finished GCSEs and worked so hard, so this hol was for her, her choice!! :bhead

Hi everyone, just got back from Hisaronu early this morning.

Had the most fantastic holiday ever. Have already booked up for the Yalcin again next July for 2 weeks.

The weather was very very hot, measured it on my digital travel clock, sat it on my sunbed and it reached 58 degrees in the sun!!!!!!!!

Daughter got her passport so travelled out on 25th July so she only missed 5 days of the holiday. Met her at Dalaman. Only downside was the £116 phone bill from my mobile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did not have a bad meal the whole time we were there. Really enjoyed being in Hisaronu. Went to Olu last year, but was so glad not to be staying there this year, it was even hotter there. We went down twice to visit friends but was unbearably hot even at night.

Anyone wants any help or advice on Hisaronu, just ask.

Its the best holiday we have ever had, and I say this every year, but this really was fantastic. The family atmopshere at the Yalcin was second to none and one which I feel will be repeated now year after year.
All of the people we met there were return guests, many of them had been at least 6 years on the trot, and 1 family their 17th visit!!!!

Back to the daily grind now, oh to be back there, we all cried so much when we left, and had the best send off from the staff, who we will miss so much!!!
