Think I might beat both of you, when I went to Dom Rep about 5 years ago, it was my first long haul holiday, so I saw it wqs being featured in one of the holiday programmes, and it only had the hotel where i was staying WOW . So not only did I watch it...yep you guessed it, i taped it (vhs days), and played it back many times prior to the trip. :rofl :rofl

I have always watched holiday programmes. I think I have been a bit holiday mad since I was a child and I used to want to be a travel agent or a holiday rep :sun2

I taped a programme once when I was going on a gulet crise in Turkey and I kept it for years, in fact I may even have it somewhere in the loft :rofl

I don't just watch holiday programmes during the build-up to my hols - I watch them all year round!
I currently get home from work around 4pm, so the telly goes on and it's a flick through the cable channels to find A Place In The Sun, Airline or even Sky Travel "commercial presentations"...
I really miss the old ITV Wish You Were Here and BBC Holiday programmes; when I was young they used to start just after xmas, making the cold outside seem more bearable when you could plan holidays to exotic places like Lloret de Mar, Magaluf, or even Tenerife if you were feeling really adventurous! I know ITV are currently showing Wish You Were Here: Now and Then on Sunday mornings, so that's good, and I'm enjoying Coach Trip on Ch4 every weekday afternoon.

I also like those sort of programmes too :) Although with airline I do think people need to not leave their common sense at home ;)

I recall going to Ibiza just after easter. Hired a car and we spent lots of days on beaches where there would just be us or a couple of families. Came home and switched on Wish you were here and it featured Ibiza. There was Judith Chalmers on a beach where you couldn't see the sand for shouder to shoulder sun loungers. We watched for a bit then realised she was on a beach that 2 weeks earlier we had been on where there was just us and an Italian family, no sunbeds, the bar was closed. Turnes out that this was a beach for San antonio and that in the season the punters are brought round by boat. When we were there the boat didn't run, it was a wonder the hire car had any suspension left after we had taken it down the track to the beach!
