I just hate ignorant people who knock the place because of the ill informed sterotypical crap spouted by people who 9/10 have never even been to Benidorm. I wouldn't dream of saying a place was rubbish without ever visiting it myself.

For me, Benidorm has something for everyone young and old, you get out of Benidorm what you want, if you want egg and chips you can have egg and chips, if you want tapas etc you can have that, the choice is all yours.

Thats basically it!
People who have never visited Benidorm but when asked why they all say
'Because it's full of lager louts, and it's like a warm Blackpool'

And if the truth were known, these people who compare Benidorm to Blackpool have probably not only never been to Benidorm, but have also never been to Blackpool either.

How can people pass judgement on a place they have never been too. If they had been fair enough, that would be there opinion too which we are all entitled. I love Benidorm, there is something for all walks of life and all age groups. Don't knock it till you try it.

I really did not intend to pass judgement - if that was how it seemed then I apologise for the misunderstanding.

My sole intention was to explain that Benidorm has a certain reputation among the general public and the TV show was playing on these perceptions rather than whatever the reality maybe.

But I was puzzled as to why many people tried to convince me how wonderful benidorm is?

I don't need to go there to know that it's not where I want to go on my summer holiday. There are lots of reasons for this that I won't go into on a thread about Benidorm. I will admit that some of it is based on the reputation but a lot of it is based on what fans of Benidorm have told me.

The very things that you love about the place - I would not want as part of my holiday.

Maybe because like me she was directed from Enquires Hints and Tips where there is a topic on the Benidorm television programme, (which automatically brings you onto this forum if you want to discuss it)................................. and she thought she could come on, give her genuine views on the programme, her husbands view on the resort .....................without malice I assume!!!!!

So please do not accuse someone of "hating" Benidorm and coming on a forum as if they were doing it just to offend you............

I thought that this is meant to be a Costa Blanca forum. Whilst I'm not slagging the place off at all there are plenty more places on the Costa Blanca then Benidorm and these cater for some very diverse tastes that maybe suit the writer of the post more than Benidorm does.

Well. I only hope you people will be as gracious with me, if I ever get directed (for example) to the Tenerife forum because of a TV comedy and I happen to say that my husband thinks Tenerife is far worse in reality than the comedy"¦oh and I've never been to Tenerife BTW, but I just know it is not for me.!
