Looking at Thomas Cook, the BB would cost us over five grand so although the WOW is still expensive it's a bit better. Also bearing in mind the AI finishes at midnight at the BB [the girls are usually getting ready to go out about then] and the WOW is 24 hr AI, this impacts on our holiday quite a bit. There is also a late disco at WOW. Lyn, you know how expensive these teenagers are! :rofl Although having said that they did really well in Side last year, getting into Oxydd for free with the entertainment team and having a free drink in each of the bars on the way! Oh to be young and pretty in Turkey!

Yes it's definately sounding a good choice . Mine don't come in before 5am and theres no way we can afford to finance too much of that . they only went over to the Oxydd once and it was empty the night they went .

When we stayed at the Aegean dream the year before the entertainment team were always organising very popular trips into Gumbet but at the time they were a bit unsure . Not any more they wouldnt be :rofl
Thats still a horrendous amount of money Sharon but I guess thats the going steep price for this years peak time . Is that for 4 or 5 of you . I'm assuming all adults in 2 rooms at WOW. £5700 for us for 14 nights :yikes .couldnt find anything for 10 nights b ut theres no way we could afford that . Thats £1200 more than i've paid for cuba . Will have to re-price it earliest I can when brochures are out for next year or see what it works out DIY . have you checked that option ??

Hiya Ladies,

Between the 2, I think there may be a few pennies left over by going to the WOW, and like you say it is 24 hour AI, the entertainment is excellent, and the drinks do have the edge over BB.

Prices are shooting up whichever way you look at it, I would get a price from 2 or 3 off the internet, then go into your travel agent and ask them to price match, also, there is an advert on the telly for co operative travel offering discounts if you book with them, so worth a look.

Going DIY is ok, but in high season, it can be more expensive, it is a minefield and sometimes it just wears you out.

WOW is worth every penny, an exceptional hotel that is ideal for teenagers, I really hope you can find a deal.

Oh well we wont see them until 7am then and a better quality of vodka or Jack Daniels for them to drown in . Don't encourage them TB :rofl

To be honest I have tried unsuccesfully for months to DIY the BB, I can never get it cheaper than Thomsons so I haven't even thought about it for the Wow. Yes Lyn, it's two rooms for four of us. Do you happen to know what other tour operator does this hotel? I have only priced it with Thomas Cook so far but like TB says I need to pull my finger out and get booked.

I shall have to have a browse around . Travel republic have it listed but can't find the dates although they had some good flights from london for £246 but my children seem to finish a week earlier and I think that was for the 17th july . Have you checked Monarch .

Direct holidays have it sharon .!'m getting around £4300 for a couple of dates in July (26th and 18th I think) from london for 4 adults in 2 rooms . Still TC but may save you a couple of hundred.

Cheers Lyn, all booked, great flight times from Manchester on the 21st July. £4200ish for the four of us in two rooms. 24 hr AI, disco for the girls, walking distance into Gumbet, al fresco dining for me and him,I am one happy bunny! BB came down £10 a night per room for us but it was still over 5 grand!
Triflebum, sorry in advance but I will be asking for advice regarding surrounding areas nearer the holiday! :hols Thanks guys for your help. I am happy with the price comparing it to other places we have been, ie the Hemera is coming out at 1500 each, we paid 887 each last year!

I am so pleased you have booked your holiday, and seems ok to me price wise...some that we have been to in the past few years have more than trebled in price, which is absolutely ridiculous. I know it is supply and demand, and school holidays they have the upper hand, but truly I think some of the prices are a scandal.

I just saw the price increase for the Hemera......................not a chance, that price per person. It is a good hotel, and I know it is a Barut one, but please, it cannot justify that increase, and there are far superior hotels in the Side area for that price.

Your choice of the WOW is a good one, your family will love it, and I can tell you straight away, that the al fresco Turkish retaurant is fabulous, but during the day when it opens as a little cafe bar, and they serve the flat breads and kebabs, beautiful salads and exquisite lamb kofte, a glass or 5 of wine, a cool breeze, a sea view and good company, then you will lurve it................

The main pool area can get very busy, but the bar section behind it has a good seating area, and every afternoon they do quizzes and silly games...........quite good prizes too. They serve cakes and biscuits here too from about 5 I think.

Next storey up is the main reception with a very good bar area, comfy lounge and excellent service. There is a good terrace out of the side doors, over looking the wonderful views, and in the afternoon, it goes quiet, and is lovely to just sit and do nothing.

You can ask as many questions as you like, no problem, I will answer what I can, and what I can't then others will.

Again, good choice. :sun2

I've seen the Hemera increase and a lot of other AIs in Side. Our holiday is currently £200 cheaper than when we booked (although I hadn't added extra luggage, flight meals and airport parking onto that).

I priced up the same holiday at Thomsons...it was nearly £5000 and the flights were horrific (I thought ours were bad!).

Triflebum, really looking forward to it, from what you have said it sounds ideal for us. Pleased with the p
rice to be honest, also got excellent flight times which I had been struggling to find this year. :cheers.
Lyn, don't be envious, you have Cuba to look forward to, besides I can tell you all about it when I get back, more importantly the girls can suss out the best bars in case you do go with your boys in future :tup Yeah, agree with all on the ridiculous price increases this year, the Hemera has almost doubled in price, how can that be justified :que The BB was going to cost us almost 1300 quid each and they stop serving at midnight and the beer isn't even effes :yikes Happy holidays everyone
