Hi, if you are thinking about the ones on Lara Beach Antalya they are mostly German and Russian with a small number of Brits.

Hi RIK, We have already booked to go to Lara beach and spar, but im thinking of changing to one of the Wow hotels in Turkey as their seems to be more for children than Lara Beach, but the problem is that is you want a hotel with more British you have to go 3-4 star and i want to go 5 star, and the only down fall is that most 5 star hotels have mostly Germans and Russions, so what can you do other than put up with the hotel being mixed, what percentage of British do you think go these hoteles any info would be great, anyway we went to a 100% percentage British hotel in 2005 and i have never seen such rude people and misbehaved children. :hmmm

We have booked for 14 people - 7 kids for the Wow Resort Bodrum in July 07. We spent many hours searching the internet and studying the brochures and finally settled on this hotel. he reviews were all extremely positive and it looks fantastic with loads to do for the kids and ours range from 10 to 19.

We have been to Turkey 7 times and have always stayed and 4 or 5* hotels and these always seem to have more russians etc and not that many British, but the few that we have met over the years on holiday have always made it a memorable one, and we find it quite nice that the hotel is not full of British as it then starts to resemble a Butlins or Pontins. The kids have stayed in contact with many of the other kids that they have met on our holidays.

Go out there and mix with the other fellow travellers wherever they are from, your holiday is what you make of it, and a little bit of the unknown is always interesting. :) :)

Hi Bellingham,
Just thought I would let you know that the Barut Lara is a superb hotel, we went last easter when our son was 13 and it was our best holiday to date in turkey. The slides are best at the topikapi palace but the barut is newer and very contempory. The rooms are really nice and have a Dvd player, you can hire films at the hotel shop, many that are not out in the UK. The mini bar is well stocked with proper coco cola and beer etc.We are going this easter to the Delphin Palace just abit further down and you can see thw wow hotels in the distance. The delphin which we had already booked when we went last year, and so we decided to view while there is a super hotel for teenagers, it has a 2 lane bowling alley and a games room combined, you have to pay i think for the bowling. it has a mini cinema and the indoor pool is huge. The slides are bigger than the barut. The barut has a cinema too, and the teenagers are allowed in the night club, where you get waiter service for drinks if you want. We are already booked for the Barut for Easter 2008 and we have decided to have a junior suite next time. you get bathrobes at both these hotels and free room service after midnight at the delphin palace. I think in the lara area all the hotels are very nice but some only have local brand drinks. The concorde has very good reviews too.
The beauty of going at easter is that the russians are not there in large numbers, they can be very rude and pile there plates up and push you around abit. We have been to many all- inclusives in turkey but the lara ones appear to have the most luxury. We like to go when there are not too many brits because the other nationalities while they are pushy they are not so rowdy.
Which ever hotel you pick I am sure you will have a great time, our son calls turkey his second home. Just to bear in mind that lara is not the most pretty part of turkey and there is not much to see in the area other than trips but if you are looking for rest and relaxation this is the place to go.
This is why i think the hotels offer so much.

Hi RIK and Violet.
Any info on the Titanic hotel? Does it look nice? Does it have as good a reputation as the other Lara beach hotels? Thanks.

Emma the titanic was near to the barut lara, there are some good reviews on trip advisor, the last one i read for the titanic was good. I would not be worried to go there. If the price is right. It did look really weird one day though last year with the sea mist coming over the hotel and this replica of the titanic in the distance.apparently they play the film theme tune quite alot!!
Have you booked cos if not you would find it hard to beat the Barut, it really is good. The food is excellent just read the reviews on trip advisor, not one bad one.We are just hoping the delphin lives up to the barut, we considered changing the holiday but the delphin looked so lovely we decided to stick with it.
Hope this helps violet123

Thanks Violet
We have booked Titanic already because our two boys loved the look of it!
We converted our tesco vouchers into cosmos vouchers,( you get four times their worth.) Seem to remember barut was a lot more expensive and didn't have as many water slides etc for kids. Roll on May. :D

I think its more to do with where you go than hotel's catagory that attracts the Germans and the Russians. Because of its location, advertising campaigns and the flight connections, the Medditerranean, mainly Antalya and Alanya region always appeals to more Germans and Russians than Brits. If you want a 5 star hotel with mostly British tourists try the ones around Fethiye or Marmaris, for example Lykia World, Letoonia, Hillside (the one in Fethiye, not Hillside Su) or Marmaris Palace, Mares etc in Marmaris.
