Having been to the Patara Viewpoint Hotel 5 times - and returning again in September - I thought I was reading a horror story about my beloved hotel when I read the 1st review at the folllowing link
Absolutely not the Patara Viewpoint Hotel
Phew ........... it's a different hotel they're talking about here - and it's not even in Patara, it's actually in Kalkan.
Mods, please check it out and change accordingly
Homer
p.s.
The Hotel it should be is the "Allstar Marinem Patara Resort" in Kalkan
Will look into it Homer
I have to say one thing - there is a hotel/resort overlooking Kalkan Bay called the Patara Prince resort and it doesn't look to be that.
However, the Marinem Patara Resort, [formerly the Beyhan Hotel],is in Patara - and it looks like this is the hotel being reviewed.
This is the link that should be being used - Marinem Patara Resort
It's certainly an incorrect link on the HT webpage review as it points to the Patara Viewpoint Hotel
I'm sure Muzaffer Otlu, the Viewpoint owner, wouldn't take too kindly to having unfavourable reviews posted about a hotel that includes a link within the review pointing to his homepage. [Especially when his brother is the local Mayor and very keen on tourism in Patara]
Homer
p.s.
You can actually see the Marinem from the Viewpoint as they are on opposite hills.
Story has it the former Beyhan owner fell foul of the local authorities who were upset by the large whitewashed hotel [the biggest in Patara] standing out like a sore thumb - so he was ordered to paint the entire hotel green to 'blend in' with the surrounding countryside. It was green for the past 2 years - maybe it's back to white now. I'll confirm that for you on 14th September
The review from David and Susan from Leeds in 2005 look as though they are reviewing Marinem Patara hotel.
The Turkey Hotels review link is specifically for the Patara Viewpoint Hotel.
The email / website link and telephone number are all for the Viewpoint Hotel - it's the number I use to phone Muzaffer every year to make my booking.
All three reviews posted are certainly not of the Viewpoint Hotel - they are for the Marinem, [formerly Beyhan], Hotel.

AI should have been until midnight stopped at 11:00 then the drinks were expensive.
Patara Viewpoint does not do AI
jimmy mulholland said:
no roof top terrace, no al a carte. Botanic gardens run down, no soup kitchen at midnight, and surprise surprise no rep,
Patara Viewpoint has no rooftop terrace/has no botanic gardens/a midnight soup kitchen/ and does not use reps

Marinem Patara Hotel, to say this hotel is clean is an understatement. Your room is cleaned daily and towels exchanged. Linen is changed every third day.
This review starts immediately by referring to the Marinem - not the Viewpoint, so this one is absolutely in the wrong place.
David and Susan said:
Dinner this is the one failing at this hotel.
Starters are very good lots of choices and soup of the day is always available.
The Viewpoint only do Bed & Breakfast
David and Susan said:Turkish bath and Massage, now this is one area this hotel excels, a wonderful experience with very experienced staff.
They are able to help if you have a stiff neck or back.
The Viewpoint have no facilities to do this. However, the Marinem will pick you up by taxi from the Viewpoint and take you up there for one.

Despite slight unwillingnesss to do so, the Hotel can upgrade you to full about for about (£20)25tlr per day. They would prefer (obviously) if you did it for the entirety of your stay but you would lose money when on excursions etc.
As per review 1 - upgrading to Full Board/AI at the Viewpoint is not even an option
Andy said:If you intend to drink more than 4 drinks a day each, then this is the best way to save money. Drinks are expensive on a B&B, H/B basis.
Also worth doing it on a Patara beach visit, otherwise you have to pay for everything incl sunbed, parasol & water....
This is a reference to a service available from the Marinem Hotel - who own the only facilities available on Patara Beach.
The general public pays to hire parasols/sunbeds etc when they arrive on the beach [Viewpoint customers as well ]
Marinem guests have an option that entitles them to pay for a day trip where everything is included.
There endeth my case Your Honour
The whole webpage is specifically for the Patara Viewpoint Hotel - web link/e-mial link/phone number.
Unfortunately the 3 reviews, [and they are not exactly favourable], are for an entirely different hotel.
I'm sure any hotelier would be horrifed to see their hotel wrongly linked to reviews that were absolutely not related to them.
Homer
Have changed the name to the Marinem and created a new hotel for the Patara Viewpoint.
Thanks very much for following that up Glynis.
Just been looking at the reviews of the Caledonia Park in Tenerife
Oooo thanks for picking that up. Looks like member has picked Tenerife but posted about Lanzarote.
Have copied the review over to the correct hotel and deleted it from Tenerife.
Thanks - it was a bit confusing!
