Sparkycat,
Do you have a flight number since there are two flights on a saturday to PMI: XLA488/9V (737-800) and XLA4202/3 (Boeing 757-200). You'll probably not notice much difference between XL and TOM in terms of the aircraft, they are pretty similar. They are configured 3-3 with 29-30" seat pitch as oposed to TOM's 28".
Darren
Even less optimistic now as my re-scheduled flight is not showing on xl website . I'm just hoping the flight is sold out and not another letter winging it's way too me.
I would check with XL. If your flight has vanished from their website it has prpbably been cancelled. This has happened to us twice with the Manchester to Dalaman flight first the 14.15 then the 07.00. Booked this holiday with an internet company and when we told them the 18.00 flight was not acceptable they changed us to Thomas Cook at 09.45. I am now checking departures every Friday to check if that flight actually takes off
Chris
Can anyone tell me when Excel release flights for next summer please?
Excel are selling flight from birmingham to sharm el sheik in 22nd december, but does not display on birmingham airport website, can anyone enlighten me on this. As I have already had one flight cancelled on 23 december with excel, I am worried about having another cancelled, when I questiond excel about this flight as I was not offered this as alternative they said it only went on sale after my one one had been cancelled. Have great concerns about excel.
Sarong - they released 2008 flights in May (I know, I'm booked!).
Thanks Elenitsa, I just had another look, seems like Bristol to Alicante is not available (or not in operation) yet but Bristol to other destinations is.
They did seem to cut down their Bristol operation a bit - I had wanted to book a Malaga flight for June just gone, but they dropped the route. Thankfully they seem to be keeping the more mainstream Greek ones.
Departing LGW to SSH on the 18th Sept at 13:40 - XLA348V
Returning SSH to LGW on the 27th Sept at 23:45 - XLA477V
Thanks
Lee
Roundhead81,
I know XL arn`t everones cup of tea but for those trying to save a bit of money looks like another reason for using Tesco is about to go down the pan
LGW-Gran Canaria Easter 2006 - advised a few weeks before departure that our return flights would be put back by 6 hours which meant we now landed at midnight rather than 6.00pm. Wrote complaining - to no avail.
LGW-Barbados Easter 2007 - 6 hour delay going out, 3 hour delay coming back and due "technical reasons" no in-flight entertainment whatsoever !! Flight also operated via Manchester. Vowed never to fly with them again.
LGW-Menorca June 2007 - Despite vowing never again, couldn't resist return flights for £33.50 inc all taxes/fees each. Superb flight, bang on time, nice new plane, smiley crew, even the gate at Gatwick was really close. Couldn't fault them this time.
So basically I'll still use them for short haul, but won't touch them for long haul, they just don't seem to have the wide bodied fleet. Shame because they have some bargain flights to the Caribbean.
Which is different from what you say is on the XL site. It would appear that holidays arealso going down the pan. Could anyone clarify this situation?
You are right, I`ve just checked and the details have changed since my original post.....Package holidays ARE included as well as flight onlys....P & O Ferries and holidays are also ceasing about the same time as well....Not much else to interest me on the clubcard deals to be honest
Paully, there is Cosmos, but we went to Majorca this year with XL.com and the same hotel with Cosmos would have cost me and the wife another £150 each with Cosmos It will need to be costed very carefully next year.
Apart from looking every Monday is there anyway of tracking this flight to see how late or otherwise it runs (same for return).
I presume it will be a 3 and 3 seat rows and we actually have meals included which surprised me as i thought they were the main ones who didn't suppy!
IMHO they arent that bad. We just flew to Spain with XL from Bristol and have flown to Turkey from Bristol. They are fine, both times we had no delay.
My friend has flew with them 3 years running and has had no problems whatsoever.
When we flew with them in May the flights were fine, on time out and in, leather seats, no food but we were upgraded on both flights to seats with extra leg room
I think we are flying with XL through Libra...flights ECA825 & ECA 824, can any confirm and if so what aircraft.
Thanks a lot
