Following our river cruise in Thailand this April, we think that we'd like to include a Yangtze cruise in our next holiday to the Far East. We'd like to combine this with a few days in Hong Kong and finish off with a week or so sunning ourselves in a beach resort - and there's the problem
I've found plenty of tour operators that combine a cruise and HK, or HK and a beach, but so far my searches for all three have proved completely unsuccessful. Have any HT-ers done this combination please and if so, how did you arrange it?
Thanks
Elaine
Lots of tour operators will do a tailor made holiday, or add on something to the major part of the trip. A few years ago before I started to do DIY holidays I did a tour of Malaysia with Kuoni. We flew into Singapore from London and the tour was scheduled to fly out from Singapore back to the Uk, but we wanted to visit Bangkok and one of the Thai beaches after the main tour and Kuoni arranged flights and accomodation for us in Thailand with flights back to the UK from Bangkok. Also with Hayes and Jarvis many years ago I did a tour of China which ended in Hong Kong and some people were flying to different places before returning to the Uk, all arranged by H&J. Just choose the Cruise and HongKong holiday that you like the best and ring the tour operator direct to see if they could plan an add on for you.
Hi Elaine - we used China Holidays do tailor make our holiday last year and they may be able to help. They are very friendly. Website here -
Kuoni and H & J only seem to do the cruise as part of an organised tour of China, but I've emailed them to ask if you can do the cruise on its own.
I did look at China Holidays before, but the only beach resort they seem to go to is Hainan and I've been a bit put off that after reading some recent reviews.
Oh well, I'll keep looking. It's not going to be for at least 2 years yet anyway, because we've already booked 3 weeks in Paxos for next year, so I've not got many days' leave left before April 2009. I just like planning in advance - it's half the fun
Elaine
They did an add on for us that wasn't in their brochure.
