Hi Nicole,
Yes it will still be very hot in September and you should certainly take precautions for your children regarding sunburn. High factor, good quality creams are a must for young children, as are wide brimmed sunhats. The kind of heat you experience in Egypt is usually a 'dry heat' and depending upon whereabouts you are going the temperatures can vary quite a lot. I am sure that some mums with young children will gen you up on those all over coverall things that you can buy especially for young children, they sound very good. :D

Hi, I live in Luxor but from UK. Don't know where you're travelling to in Egypt? I have been here a year & feel safer here than I would in the UK. Many people come with children. Here at moment temps are top 30's maybe more, in Sept it could be similar or maybe a little less dpending on where you are? Just bear in mind that if the kids are in & out of the pool, that's the time they may get burnt or sunstroke as they don't really notice the heat. Yes, keep wacking the cream on & maybe they could wear T.shirts in the pool to avoid burning. If you are in Luxor & plan to do tours, do them early in the morning, it's cooler then. The people will make a great fuss of your children, they love kids, so warn them to expect this.
Hope that's been of some help. If you need any more info send me a PM or reply here. Hope you have a great time when you get here & fall in love with Egypt & it's lovely people like I did.

Hi

I went to Sharm last June with my 5 year old and 11 month old son. We found the weather perfect. It was hot but because its a dry heat it didn't feel as hot as some other places we have been too. Our baby wore a UV costume at all times and a mixture of factor 50 and Piz Buin 30 once a day stuff. Not one of us burnt, but we were very careful. there were a lot of very burnt adults and children.
Our room had a kettle in it so I boiled all the water to make sure it was fine to make up my sons milk and he never had any problems with a bad belly and ate what we ate too.

We loved it so much we are going back in July this year.

hope you have a good trip

Hi we took our grandchildren to Greece when they were that age and they were fine. We bought a uv suit for them here before we went and they basically lived in it. They had a couple of hours in the morning in a swimsuit then from 11 til 4 the uv suit went on . They were fantastic - also the hats to match with the piece that comes down at the back to protect the neck. Make sure that they drink continuously throughout the day -preferably bottled water and only eat at places that are busy. This will mean a quick turnover in produce so food will be fresh. Have a great time.
