why waste your valuable luggage allowance all essentials [not necessary British brands] are available
Sunshine1-We went to Corfu (same island group) on that exact date a few years ago and had a lovely week. Hot enough for sunbathing by day and just a light cardigan needed in the evening. We did have one morning of heavy rain though but it cleared up in the afternoon. Came home with a lovely colour
Partyanne, I wouldn't bother because as Wizard said you can get it all there. I do pack a tea towel when SC as it doesn't take up much room and weighs next to nothing.
you could look up the weather history for Zante at Wunderground.

May 2010..
Thanks for the prompt reply. Not been to Corfu and can't wait
Thanks for the responses, checked wunderground and is showing pretty good for last year
Has anyone stayed at the Caretta Beach recently? My son & his family will be staying there at the end of August.
Oh Helen that is where I am looking to book for next year for my family as they had a great time in Egypt at the watermark and would like something similiar for next year. Zante is a lovely island so this is my favoured hotel for next year though reviews are a bit hit and miss, you will have to let us know how your son gets on.
Will do. It certainly looks like a fantastic hotel for children. Hubby & I are also off as a group of 4 adults to Kalamaki at the beginning of August. This will be our 3rd visit to Zante, having stayed in Argassi and Laganas on previous occasions. We have however travelled through all the main resorts of the Island.
we stayed at caretta beach last year, it was nice enough but as we have been to the island a few times now we didnt spend too much time there just the odd days round the pool, rooms were comfortable enough for the 4 of us, its all inc as of this year so i wouldnt stay there again, this year we are staying at cronulla
Is anyone off to Kalamaki before August this year? Having been to Argassi and Laganas, we're looking forward to returning to Zante and staying at Kalamaki at the beginning of August this year. We're staying B & B at the Venus hotel and my son is staying at the Caretta Beach a fortnight after us. Is anyone going before us please?
helen- im going after you- (Hotel venus), so would be interested in your review. Having said that have you read the reviews on trip advisor?- there fantastic!! voted no 1 hotel in kalamaki- i dont think we;ll be dissappointed, do you?
I'm checking those reviews regularly, and so far it looks brilliant
i know quite a few people who stay at the venus every year, they love it and cant fault it at all
Reading on a bit further, I was so happy to see better reports really looking forward to going in July now
We had no probs with the airport other than the seating . Have a fantastic Holiday .
there is definitely more seating now than there was the first year the new departures was open and also seating upstairs
This will be our first vist to Zante when we come for 7 days in October, so does anyone recommend a good "cheap" TAXI transfer company (two adults and 1 child) to kalamaki, or is it just as cheap and simple to get a taxi outside the airport?
Many Thanks
Bill
Welcome to the site I haven't used private transfers myself as we've done package holidays but Kalamaki is only about 10 mins from the airport so a taxi should cost you under 10 euros. Personally I wouldn't bother using a transfer company and just get a taxi from outside the airport.
