The Aurora is probably in the best location in Alice Springs, it´s right on the Todd Mall which is the main shopping/restaurant area.
The rooms are well used but clean. There is a small swimming pool in the inner courtyard which was very welcome after the a very hot day. The staff were pleasant and helpfull and we were allowed to leave our main luggage in storage whilst we went to Ayers Rock for a few days.
The hotel´s own restaurant the Red Ochre Grill was excellent we had fish and chips one night (yes I know it sounds silly to go all the way to Oz for fish and chips but I live in Germany and they are a rarity for me)and they were really good and one portion was plenty for two of us.
