Took around 1 hour 15 minutes between landing and arriving at hotel.
Cold towel and drink on arrival. Completed check in and taken to room. Room was in a small block, up the external stair case which split into two, veer right for our room.
Enter the ornate Balinese style door. Large bedroom. Large double bed. Two bedside cabinets with lamps. TV with CNN, Discovery, BBC World News, and Australian channel and a few others. Two chairs with table. One desk with another chair. Up one step to bathroom which contained two double wardrobes, walk in shower, basin and very large bath. Wooden panels folded back between bath and bedroom. Toilet in separate unit at the opposite end to the shower.
Shampoo, soap, shower cap, tea, coffee, sugar and water provided daily, but only enough water to make about 3 cups of coffee. Decent size cups provided. Robes and slippers provided in the room, but must be left behind.
Hotel very Balinese in style, low rise, tropical plants every where. Large swimming pool, not as cold as some I have been in. Swim up bar in pool.
Further bar between swimming pool and beach, and one final bar in Reception.
Bintang beer served from the bottle, but by the glass, so if you timed it wrong you had the warm left overs from the previous person. Plenty of cocktails, fruit juice and unbranded spirits.
Food very well prepared, no stomach upset at all during the three weeks. Mix of Balinese and other Asian foods, Italian night, and other themes. No sign of chips at all during the holiday.
Hotel and grounds spotlessly clean. Staff very cheerful and helpful. Swimming pool clean, plenty of sunbeds, and people tended to use the beds and move off them when finished, the only time you really saw unattended beds with towels on them was during lunchtime. There were always spare beds to be had.
Evening entertainment consists of musicians and singers during dinner. Not brilliant, but entertaining. Balinese culture shows several times a week, and a big full moon celebration when we were there with suckling pig on the menu.
Beach a bit gritty rather than the fine sand I was expecting. Sunbeds and permanent shades provided. Plenty of water activities. Sea very shallow, and could go a long way out. Not very many beds on the beach, so were in short supply sometimes.
There was a path along the beach which took you all the way along to the Melia Bali and you could then go around a fence and cut over to the Bali Collection shoppring centre. Went a fair way long to Benoa too, but did stop half way.
Very, very relaxing holiday.
