Location
There is a large reception area with very comfortable leather settees and a bar. Safety deposit boxes are available and 24 hour reception.
The pool area is attractive with ample sun beds. The pool itself is clean and of a decent size, including a small children's area.
The outside bar/restaurant is very attractive. It has a particle canopy for shade. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful, they make every effort to accommodate guests.
Rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard. Fresh towels are given everyday. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated. All rooms have a small fridge. Bathrooms are spacious and have hairdryers.
The food in the hotel is of the usual standard for Bulgarian hotels. The kitchen staff do try and accommodate guests to the best of their ability.
The evening entertainment is a couple of singers (mostly 70's music) with more attention to English and American singers. They are not bad singers and the atmosphere at the hotel makes it worth staying there to listen. People come from other hotels to dance.
Overall I would say this is an excellent hotel. Very accommodating to both adults and children.
I am not sure if I would return to this resort, but without a doubt if I did I would return to this hotel every time.
The only negative point is the ramps they have for pushchairs and disabled people they are very steep.
A truly brilliant holiday was had by all members of our party.

As the hotel filled up there were no sun beds to be had and people were having to sit on the poolside on their towels, it would also have helped if the sun beds had mattresses on them as people were having to buy air beds to put on sun beds for comfort.
Hotel food left a lot to be desired being left out for hours and which is very un-hygenic and mostly un- eatable on first arriving we were able to get tables to sit and eat but again as the hotel filled up this was not possible and had to stand and wait for a free table, I had a occasion where my husband and I went for our second course leaving my cardigan and drinks on the table only to return to find a family who were foreign had occupied our table they did not move or apologise so we had to take our drinks and belongings and move to another table when vacant, toaster very innapropiate for the amount of people trying use it as bread had to go round twice before toasted.
Some meals I just had tea or orange juice and a slice of bread as I could not stomach the meals, we were very unhappy as we were staying half board and having to eat out on occasions although finding a decent restaurant difficult.

I had heard various reports about the standard of food in Bulgarian hotels, but found the food here to be very good. There were 2 children in my party (age 5 & 1) My 5 year old is a bit of a fussy eater but ate well for the 2 weeks we were there, and my 1 year old ate everything!!!
The hotel was close enough to the beach but a bit of a walk along to the main area where everything happens.
The staff were very friendly, and could not be faulted for anything. My eldest son needed something from the chemist and one of the staff members offered to get it from her local chemist in a nearby town as it would be cheaper.
The only negative thing I can think of are the steepness of the ramps for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and the fact that people put their towels on the sunbeds very early in the morning, then went out for most of the day!!
We enjoyed it so much we are booking up for next year!

Mena Palace is one of the cleanest hotels I have stopped in, you could eat your food off the floor. It is a nice size hotel and very friendly.
Our flight was 3 hours late and when we arrived we had four packed lunches waiting for us in our room along with a bottle of water each.
All the staff including the maids smile and talk to you and they were all very helpful.
The rooms are very big and furnished beautifully, with a big wardrobe and lots of shelves to fit 14 nights worth of clothes for a family of four. There is a large dressing table with a TV on it (free of charge) and a mini bar fridge stocked with water, pop and beer but there was enough room to stock a few things of your own even though the mini bar prices are not bad at all.
There were two single beds and a double bed settee in our room but still had a lot of space. My mum and dad's room was the same size as ours but the settee was up with a coffee table next to it. Also there is no need to take hair dryers had every room has one fitted in the bathroom.
The bathrooms are big BUT be careful of the shower because the floor gets wet through and I slipped once or twice.
Security box's are 6levs per day and are behind the reception.
There are also 8 computers in the reception area with access to the internet at 5 levs per hour.
The food was ok they try to cater for everyone but was not the best I have had. The dining room again is clean and all tables are emptied quick and I new table cloth put on for the next guests to sit at. The food at the pool bar is nice and not priced to bad if you want a snack.
The pool is nice but when we were there the filters got blocked and it was dirty but it was cleaned within two days. The pool is deep even what they call the shallow end is around 5ft deep but the kids pool is nice. There's a lot of sun beds but while we was there the hotel was busy and if you was not round the pool before 9.30am you had no chance getting one, the beds are free of charge. Also there is a life guard there all day so if you see a young man sat near the children's pool that's him.
The location of the hotel is great, it's around 5mins to beach and 10mins to the main centre but there is loads of shops and bars around it but without too much noise.
The only thing I can say bad about this hotel is how steep the ramps are, it was hard with a pram I really don't think they could be used for wheel chairs there way to steep, and my daughter was using them as a slide!
I would recommend this hotel to people of all ages.

For a four star hotel we were expecting something like Spain foodwise.
But if I visit Buglaria again I would certainly recommmed this hotel.

The pool is again clean but quite deep. The location is good, about a 3min walk to beach, and 8 mins to the centre.

On arrival to the airport, you get rushed by Balkan reps to the coach, an then after 30mins you arrive at this new hotel. Reception staff are great, we got checked in quickly.
The food is good, and more coming out all the time! The entertainment is OK, but not fantastic.
Location is good, less than 10 mins to centre of Sunny Beach.
Definately returning in next season.

We have read bad reports on the standard of food in Bulgarian hotels, in the mena palace the food is the best we ever had, much better than a 5* hotel in Tenerfife!
There is something for every taste, and nothing is too cold or un-edible.
Location of this hotel is excellent, just a few minutes by foot to the main centre, and the beach.
The cleaniness is 5*, eveyhing is clean and top notch! The maids are extreamly good.
The hotel staff are again excellent, very helpful and polite.
The entertainment is good, singing etc... with talent!
We loved bulgaria and this hotel very much, planning on returning soon.

They were all very friendly and very helpful given the language barriers.
The food was excellent with lots of choice and was normally piping hot. As the tables were used the staff would come straight over with clean tablecloths and the like. There was very little queuing and what there was went down immediately. The staff were constantly sweeping and mopping floors from morning till night.
The location is ideal as it is about 5-10 minutes walk away from the main shopping area and only 5 minutes away from the beach, this meant that it wasn
