I have just returned from a week a the Zefir Beach hotel and have this to say.
The hotel is very clean including the room, lobby and the pool area. However I am sorry to say that the staff in the hotel seemed quite unfriendly and the food was extremely poor. I went on a half board basis as a precaution as I had never been before and didn't know what options the were to eat out.
The breakfast was OK but seemed to lack choice. There were hot choices which didn't look very appetizing but the cold meats and bread choices were substantial enough. I only went in the evening once on my first night as the choices were very limited and looked revolting. I had salad and a large plate of chips and ate out for the rest of the holiday which was easy enough and reasonably priced.
There were not many British guests as the hotel seems to cater for Germans. I did not consider this to be a problem, however they did seem to push in and treat the hotel like they owned it ad the hotel staff seemed to favor them more.
The room was very clean and maintained every day. However it was not air conditioned which was very uncomfortable. Also I was located at the front of the hotel overlooking the street and you could hear the noise from the bars at night.
I did like the location the hotel was in it was in an area which was 3km from the centre of Sunny Beach and also 3km from neighboring resort Nessebar which is well worth a visit. Both could be reached by taxi, the mini train which stop nearby or you could do both on foot quite easily.
I am sorry to say that as much as I enjoyed my visit to Sunny Beach, I found the hotel disappointing and even though I do intend to came back next year, I will find another place to stay and I will go bed and breakfast.

Hotel Zefir Beach ruined our holiday. We payed alot of money to go all inclusive and all the food was German, also named and listed in German aswell so we did not have a clue what anything were. Also everytime we went for breakfast, dinner, tea etc we felt awquard as though alot of people was against us (german) and speaking in their own language to others when we walked past with food. I was at Zefir Beach for 11 days and got food poisening 3 times, many times at tea time the meat was pink and not cooked properly, this also ruined my holiday because i spend most of the time in my room, ill. The pool is a decent size for familys etc.. although the pool bar for drinks none of them speak english and always give you the incorrect drinks what you asked for because they didnt understand you? I can say the cleaness of the hotel is good because your rooms got cleaned everyday and change of bed and towels, and also the pool got cleaned everynight and the pool area. Zefir Beach is in a rubbish location as its not near the centre you have to catch a train that costs 3 lev which most of my money got spend on (apart from eating out because i hated the food in the hotel) .. although the hotel is about 3 minutes away from the beach.. I advise nobody to go here as you will just waste your money, but if you enjoy german food, can speak german and like ignorant people then this hotel is reccomended for you.

Not many English staying at the Hotel and those that were staying were given rooms at the back over looking the road where there is a very noisy pub type bar from which the noise went until gone 3 oclock most nights which kept me awake for most of the nights I stayed.
The staff did not speak much English so it was difficult to communicate. I had a night flight home and to keep a room was very exppensive (40lev until 20-00hrs or 50 Lev until midnight). Especially as they do not have a courtesy room in order for you to take a shower befor you leave, having had to vacate my room by midday.
The pool area was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. I as per usual had pay the discriminatory single room supplement and still did get the sort of room I requested ie a sunnyy over looking the pool as these were allocated to the Germans staying at the hotel. I have difficulty walking up flights of stairs which was mentioned when I booked but still given a room on the fourth floor, and had to climb the stairs when on one occassion the lift was not working

I went to sunny beach with my boyfriend we are 20 and 22 ...the hotel itself was very clean all the time apart from we were there two weeks and had our towels changed twice ... weather this was our fault i dont know ... maybe if you asked at receotion they would giv you clean ones but they were meant to get changed 3 times a week .....the room was basic but very nice plenty of room for the two of us ... the wardrobe was small but we managed to put all our clothes n shoes in it ... you get a5 hangers .... the staff at reception i didnt think were very polite at the beginning of the week but by the end they were ok ... the bar staff wer very nice tho they would always say hi and spoke pretty good english.

The rooms were cleaned every day towels changed every three days and the bed sheets were not changed as we were there for one week, although if you asked at reception they gave you extra towels and would change the bed sheets reluctantly. The pool area was cleaned up evey night and swept every morning.
We only went to breakfast once as the food wasnt great, but there was fruit, white and brown bread, three different types of egg, sausage, tomatos etc and cold meats and cheese.
The location was ideal for us as it was just outside of the main part of sunny beach, the beach was just over the road and the small train that stopped at various places around the resort stopped right outside the hotel.
The staff in the hotel were not that polite or particularly helpful, I think this was mainly due to the fact that alot of them could not speak much English as it is a German hotel.

A bit concerned when arriving as the hotel is only advertised as a 2 star. Shouldn't have worried a bit as the hotel is a lot better than some 3 and 4 star hotels I have stayed in.
The cleanliness is very good as when we arrived at about 4 in the morning there was still cleaners mopping and sweeping in the reception.
Room was good and clean all the time, my only concern is that there is no shower door or curtain on the shower and as the bathroom is fully tiled it could have been dangerous with slipping.
We stayed bed and breakfast and will not bother next time as the food was pretty terrible so we ate out all the time but with everything being so cheap in didn't really bother us that much.
Staff were always nice and smiled.
Did not really see any entertainment but that's not what we really wanted anyway and the centre of Sunny Beach was only a mini train ride away which stops right outside the hotel and was only 2lev each which is about 60p.

This hotel is clean, but basic. Rooms which are'nt very big, with not that much closet space so lived out of suitcase.
The hotel is situated just outside sunny beach but can easily be reached by taxi, horse drawn carriage or cheaper by mini-train, just outside the hotel.
There is a wide range of restraunts and shops just a short walk from outside the hotel, also a crazy golf and donkey rides for the kids.
The hotel pool was good and very clean also a kids pool with fountain which is good for kids. The breakfast at the hotel was very varied but did seem to cater for the germans, which there is plenty of in bulgaria.
The beach which is very good and clean is a short walk from behind the hotel.
The location of this hotel is also in easy reach by walking or taxi to nessebar which is well worth a visit.
The water park sited outside of sunny beach is vey good and can be reached on a free bus from centre of sunny beach.
We went on trips to zosopoll which is nice also Varna. The only thing which we didn't like was the beggars that had their young children begging along some streets, but this did not spoil us from enjoying our holiday which was great.
We would go back to Bulgaria which is very cheap but may try golden sands resort.
