We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

Plenty of entertainment everywhere. People cleaning all the time, lots of litter bins, only downfall when it rains can be a bit muddy in places.
Beach large clean and very sandy.

Sunny Beach was the best resort for catering for children that i have ever seen.my wife and i regretted we did`nt have our grandchildren with us.
One snag we encountered on the beach on the second week when the hot weather arrived. this was the exhorbitent charges we had to pay for hiring sunbeds and umbrella.
Everything else in sunny beach was amazingly cheap.a pint of the local beer was in Djanni`s was 35 cents!and eating out was very enjoyable, specially when paying the bill.

Sunny Beach is a lively resort with quieter parts for the more discerning traveller.
I went there in the middle of September and the weather was warm and sunny. It was 24 celsius, 75 fahrenheight every day but it does get cool in the evenings. Therefore warm clothing would be recommended for the evenings in September.
I would recommend going in July or August when the weather is 30 celsius, 92 fahrenheight.
The resort is clean and very well managed. Rubbish is simply not dumped on the beach or the promenade as it is the UK at resorts on the south coast. Locals take a pride in keeping the resort clean.
The Pubs are very cheap and with £10 you can have a very jolly night out. Milleys is great a Scousers dream full of Brits doing Karaoke ideal for families with teenagers.
There are over 60 pubs to choose from.
The Red Lion is a traditional British Pub in Bulgaria.
When it comes to entertainment there are three main Nightclubs the Brohma, Laser and the Cuban. The Cuban has a Stargate in the Nightclub as featured in the Channel 4 TV programme Stargate.
It is mainly full of British and German tourists, although there are some Russians and Swedes as well. The music is both Euro Pop and Dance. The Cuban also has a Las Vegas style Casino.
The nightlife is not up to San Antonio in Ibiza, Magaluf in Majorca or Falaraki in Rhodes but a lot better than I originally expected.
The beach is superb with fine golden sand and stretches for about five miles. The Black Sea is clean and warm enough to swim in. Watersports are available, Paragliding for 30 minutes costs £8 and Jet Ski's £16 for 30 minutes.
You can sunbathe undisturbed apart from the odd Pretzel and doughnut seller walking up and down the beach.
The most expensive place to eat at in Bulgaria is McDonalds and the food is much better in local restaurants. Sadly I didn't get enough time to go the Khan Tent.
The value for money is incredible £4 per person for a meal excluding drinks, £5 per person including drinks.
Alcoholic drinks are actually cheaper than soft drinks. A vodka and coke costs 70p, a beer 60p and cocktails cost £2-£3.
The best restaurants are generally along the three mile promenade.
I would recommend a visit to the Chinese Restaurant close to the Hotel Cuban where the food is exceptionally good and the speed of service is extremely quick.
Bulgarian food is an acquired taste but their is plenty of English, American, German, Chinese and Swedish Restaurants. A Swedish Breakfast is an enjoyable experience completely different to a British fry up.
For shopping you can get cheap fake watches, CD's, DVD's and football strips. You can get six album CD's for £16 with the latest international pop music. For £20 you can get six DVD's with the latest movies just released.
Clothes and sunglasses are also very cheap. With cheap sunglasses, CD's, DVD's, Clothes you can spoil
yourself with a very small amount of money compared to Britain.
I would recommend an excursion or two to either Varna, Bourgas or Nessebar. Nessebar is just 10 minutes from the resort and Bourgas is a 30 minutes by coach.
I went to Varna which a 90 minute minibus ride which cost only £6 return for 4-6 hours in the city. Varna has an impressive Church, good beach and cheap shopping. Varna also has international restaurants and the modern facilities you would expect of a big city.
In Varna some of the architecture is Russian you can see the influence of Communism on the grey drab buildings. Although as it is not a major tourist resort it is even cheaper than Sunny Beach.
Sunny Beach is ideal for both a group of friends and families with plenty to do.
Sunny Beach has good nightlife, good food, superb beach, warm weather, friendly people and cheap shopping.
I will certainly visit Sunny Beach again in the future.

As far as we were concerned there was nothing wrong with the resort. It was clean and plenty of entertainment if you wanted it. The beach was lovely, apart from the fact that we only got one day of sun. Again, the Bulgarian rep said the weather was unpredictable at that time of year. No I would not visit Bulgaria again. Travelled abroad for 18 years and this was the worst holiday ever.

Beaches lovely and clean. When we stayed there were people walking up and down beach picking all litter up and dogs are not allowed on beach so theres no worries about stepping in any dog mess.
Lots to do outside hotel. It's worth taking a taxi to Nesserbar beautiful old town. You may get the odd gypsie asking for you to buy things on the beach but a stern NO and they will leave you alone.
Try KARNS TENT its a themed night on top of a mountian wow my son said it was great you get a lovely 3 to 5 course Bulgarian meal water wine and plenty of soft drinks for kids great value for money.
Look out for small run hotels they offer great entertainment as well. Overall we had a fantastic time my dads been back every year since and still loves it.

Very large and busy resort lots going on. Loads of bars resturants (very Cheap) and every type of cuisine you can imagine. Lots of activitys for the children little bunge jumps, Trampolines, a small water park belonging to a hotel which we spent the whole day at. Horse Ridding within walking distance.
There are small train's which run around the resort so don't have to walk to each end, also horse and carriages and taxis.
The beach is a very long stretch of golden perfect sand with clear warm sea and lots of life guards to keep you all safe. Banana boats, paragliding can all be done on the beach. excellent resort would definately go back. Bars and restaurants open 24hrs a day.

sunny beach is one of the best holiday resorts i have been to and is by far the cheapest. it is cortrary to genral oppinion very clean and although i heard of people being ripped off (usually in the change boths) it is as safe as anywhere else you just have to be vigilant as with anywhere else. My advice is to go to the banks to get your money changed it will save any mix ups with what colour booth to go to. That over with lets get back to basics food and drink is very cheap inall the bars and restraunts and usually they cater very well for the english one that i do recormend is BOBBY,S BAR a big colourfull man with agreat sence of humour (especially if you are a scouser) KHANS TENT is another must (a great family night out) the aqua park is also very good but get there early or the germans will get all the beds (they usually put towels down in different parts of the park to follow the sun i think they only pack towels for their holls) finally you must visit the market in nessabar (gen footy tops start at about six pound or at least i can not find any differance to the ones you get here)
i am going now but just keep an open mind look around before you buy and change your money inthe bank and you will have a brilliant holliday one word of caution if you go with balkan DON,T EAT THE INFLIGHT MEAL or for the first couple of days you will be inshite your self and don,t try to bring back cigs or booze you will deffinetly get picked out they scan all bags for them on ertry to the airport and that willresult in heavy back hander to thre security.have fun and pack an extra towel to keep the germans on their toe,s.
