The resort is very limited. Not much to do or see, but the hotels have a lot to offer so you don’t need to move!!(We didn’t)

Cayo Guillermo - has a beautiful white sandy beach. The sea is very clear and you can see lots of fish swimming quite close to the beach.

The sea is very shallow by the hotel great for children.

The beached was cleaned daily.

Lots of activities available from the hotels on Cayo Guillermo to keep you busy.

Well worth a visit - highly recommended.

Resort itself is miles away from the main big areas to visit i.e swimming with dolphins and Havana. However because you are so near the airport a domestic flight is a must to visit Havana.

The resort consisted of mainly hotels. The cayos are islands with hotels on them and thats about it. You can walk out to sea for about 3/4 of a mile and it wont go above your knee (good if you have kids). At this hotel the beach is about4 foot wide and it really doesnt get much bigger. There is a kiosk where you can hire canoes and go on bobcats to a reef which is good but there was a current near the reef and it is not suitable for young swimmers. A life jacket is provided for young ones but it is hard to swim and take them with you. The entertainment staff are fantastic at this hotel. There are the usual pool games and because the hotel is situated on an island with just four other hotels there is a show everynight. You cannot go walking after dinner unless it is in the hotels grounds. We booked one hour of horse riding and the children and i were very upset because the horses were covered in sores and very thin. The rep said they are 'well treated'. Overall i was glad to come home but we still enjoyed what we did. If you want a relaxing holiday and dont want to put on weight this is the place for you.

The white beaches are cleaned evertday to ensure all the seaweed that has been washed up is removed to make the beach look very clean and well looked after. The sun beds are always put away tidily.

Cayo Guillermo is literally just 4 hotels in a row on the islands Atlantic coast. No locals, no shops only 2 restaurants outside the hotel complexes.

Ideal for escapists.

This beach and sea are absolutley beautiful. Crystal clear, calm and incredibly warm. The locals will take you out to the coral reef on little catamarans for a few peseos...it is breathtaking and we did it over and over again.

Just be careful of the dangerous kite surfers who pay no attention to the snorkellers. I was nearly killed - not an exaggeration - Lino the rep was as helpful as he could be.
We also loved the deep sea fishing but the other excursions were disappointing.

Cayo Guillermo is not particularly a resort as such - there are just 4 hotels on the island and a couple of beach bars which we didn't visit. If you are looking for somewhere lively with bars and clubs - don't go.
