Stayed 3 nights at the end of an extensive tour of Cuba.
The location of the hotel is superb, across the road from Obispo which is one of the main streets for shops and restaurants and the hotel is very near to the Capitolio, the Academy of Sciences a beautiful buiding modelled on the Capitol in Washington and well worth a visit.
The rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished. The staff friendly and eager to please.
The breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choices. The hotel is of a good international standard (rare in Cuban city hotels).
I had a room overlooking the central square and a busy road, but very quiet at night. People staying in the rooms overlooking the lobby complained of being kept awake by revellers drinking in the hotel bar until the early hours.

We stayed at the Telegrafo for 3 nights. The original building was once an old colonial mansion and it has been beautifully and very tastefully converted into an hotel, no expense has been spared - the design was absolutely top notch and all the fixtures and fittings were in the luxury bracket. The hotel was very clean, all public areas were immaculate and our room was kept very clean and tidy. The a/c was extremely efficient and surprisingly quiet. Check in was easy and all the staff were really helpful and friendly, and there were a lot of staff about - security was pretty good, they seemed to know who was staying there and who wasn't.
Our room was on the 3rd floor with a great view of Central Park (more of a piazza). Anyone booking this hotel would do well to ask for an outward-facing room, some face in towards the lobby. Our room had a lovely bathroom, all marble and mirrors, the bed was huge and very comfy, the wardrobe was the length of the room and had loads of hangers, and there was a colour tv, an electronic safe and a fridge/minibar (the drinks in it were about twice the price as outside, so get water beer and cola at the little bar on the other side of the road - there's no problem keeping them in the fridge). Breakfast was served in the lovely restaurant - very good, buffet with fruit, eggs however you want them, bacon and sausages (although not as we know them of course !), cold meat, cheese, danish pastries, different sorts of bread etc, juices, and very good coffee. I have given Telegrafo a 1 for entertainment because there wasn't any - but it was a city centre hotel so that's probably a bit unfair. We didn't need any other entertainment with Old Havana waiting on our doorstep. I would recommend the Telegrafo to anyone, please ask for any further details I have nmissed, I will be glad to oblige.
