Hotel and staff are absolutely brilliant, the grounds and rooms are very clean.
The food was a big dissapointment, the evening buffet was usually cold and un appetizing sometimes inedible. The lunch buffet was usually a lot better for some reason. The chef station was the best bet as the food was cooked fresh as you waited and was always hot.Breakfast not too bad in particular the omelette man at the top end of the restaurant.
The a la carte restaurants were slightly better, the Italian being the best meal I had in the 2 weeks there.The Mexican was average, the Carribean wasn`t too bad but the beach bbq grill was just awful.
The location of the hotel is great and right on the beach with a 5 minute walk to the Plaza.
While I did appreciate the efforts of the entertainment staff, shows are really not my thing and there were no other bars open other than the poolside bar were the shows took place, it felt like you had to take part and watch the show when all I wanted was to sit and relax with a drink with maybe a little background music.

There were me, my wife some children 11, 13, 18, 21 and the oldest two's boyfriends 19, 22.
Well we moved here after we left luperon beach resort (see review of that place) and after what we had been through this place was heaven, nice staff who actually talked to you and made you feel welcome.
The hotel is close to the shops and bars if you want that, the beach is fantastic all sand and some good waves (good means can get high) kids loved it could never get them out of the sea. Rooms are reasonable 2 double beds nice bathroom TV with about 8 - 10 English channels.
Food is fine there could be more choice but what you get is very nice and you should find something you like and the deserts are good.
