Hotel grounds beautiful and the beach is lovely. We have been to DR many times so my review is based on comparisons with other 4 star resorts.
The rooms are large but very dated. The room was clean as was all the towels and linens. All in all a very nice resort extremely large but it had a good transportation trolley service. The downfall was the food or should I say the flies on the food. We have never witnessed in any other DR hotel flies on the scale that this hotel had.

The main buffet food was continually covered in flies especially the cooked meats and cheese table. After reporting this to hotel management and the tui representative nothing was done. Up to 6/7 flies settled on one plate of food multiply this by several plates it was disgusting. I was given all kinds of feeble excuses by the hotel including "it was a hot country." My husband and i have never seen this before in any other DR hotel, yes there are flies but not on this scale. No help from first choice customer service, on return it took until December 2017 to get a response to my complaint which they first received in march the same year.

Many emails later a telephone call and a registered letter to their head office produced nothing. I telephoned again and was eventually offered no compensation but given £80 off my next holiday due to the terrible customer services. According to other review sites this hygiene problem still exists. This is a shame as the hotel is lovely apart from the tired rooms. I wouldn't go again due to the flies on food and the poor first choice customer services. It wasn't worth what we paid as we could not eat a lot of the food.

Hotel tip: Rooms are spread out and it's a big resort. It does have a good transport system. Ask not to be put near a large generator area in the middle of the resort it's noisy and smelly. Think it has something to do with the sewers.

The Bavaro princess all suites resort was a fabulous hotel and site, with everything you could want, except we didn't see any entertainment, as we were too tired to be bothered to stay up late enough! The food was fabulous, and huge choices available although a la carte restaurants we found were not as helpful or friendly staff. Maids, gardeners, waitresses, reception - we found everyone would put themselves out to help, but tips massively increased this enthusiasm! We thought the activity staff were hilarious - greatly entertaining!(And multi-lingual!) We went on a trip to swim with dolphins-go to Dolphin World-$110 each - fabulous! Free bus to shopping mall-watch exchange rates tho! Just got my visa bill! Sea beautiful, beach to die for-excellent holiday. My problem is now to travel to manch. or london for flights now - discontinued from Newcastle, but well worth doing again, but willgo for longer next time! Can't wait! And my husband hates flying, but wants to go back!

This hotel is the best we have ever stayed in and right on to the beach with 5 star all suites bungalows. The suite consisted of 4 rooms,

1. Entrance/living/dining room, fridge fully stocked and replenished daily (bottled coke/beer, sink unit and top, coffee table/chairs TV with over 35 channels mostly American.

2. Up 3 stairs to bedroom king bed

3.dressing room with all round mirrors sliding mirrored wardrobe, internal safe (free) a washbasin with sides.

4. toilet/bidet/bath/shower (big room).with a/c all free all day and night. Site is monstrous, there are approx 680 suites on site and 8 suites in each corner of each bungalow ground floor and 1st floor 4+4. Plus your own balcony.

The grounds are immaculate and properly over 300/400 acres with peacocks roaming about as they please, and if you are lucky, to see humming birds getting the nectar from the coconut trees, this was a fantastic bonus as we were on the first floor and right next to a palm tree, eye level and no more than 5ft away.

There are about 5 restaurants to choose from throughout the site but you have to book for each one in the main lobby each day, except the main one in the lobby where you just turn up. The food was outstanding in the main lobby restaurant so many choices that the worst moaners in history will have very little to moan about the food. The other restaurants were mostly al a cart but all excellent food.

The only complaint that we had was that most of the bar staff could not speak English and was a problem trying to get a simple lager or bacardi and coke as most only speak Spanish, very frustrating when you only want a drink but you had to try and find another bar staff who could speak English, apart from this the best place we have ever stayed in and the best and most relaxing holiday ever in 35 years.

The perfect place to unwind in 5 star comfort.

We stayed at the Bavaro All Suites resort and got married there with family and friends present. Our group totalled 14. Our experience was absolute enjoyment, from the wedding nuptials to our accomodations in a beautiful suite, to super-friendly staff, to an excellent variety of delicious foods. The grounds were beautiful, and I mean beautiful. Hibiscus and palms everywhere all over this huge resort. The lobby of this particular hotel is absolutely stunning! We enjoyed just lounging about evenings in the lobby, with cocktails made at the well-stocked bars.

We felt like royalty in our suite, all-marble interior, a great bathroom, kingsize bed, living area, our own balcony with a view of the ocean and a fully stocked bar. Housekeeping was extremely clean.

The food was fabulous! So much selection, the breads and cheeses were very good, the food was delicious at every restaurant on the resort! Sweet fresh fruits, mmmmm. Everyone in our group enjoyed great cuisine.

My only suggestion for improvement would be to "step up" the entertainment. It was not so hot, we entertained ourselves. The word "cheesy" comes to mind.

Other than that, I would give this resort a double thumbs up, it was by far the best and most beautiful resort we have ever stayed at!!
