We have stayed at two previous Sandal Hotels, we were doisappointed that the pool was closed due to a leak, but as our room opened up on to the beach it was ok, although more occupied than it normally would have been. Staff were brilliant especially the dive team.Entertainment was good but repetertive after the first week,though we didn't need to be entertained.We enjoyed watching the volley ball game that took place everyday.Food was good but a few people didn't understand the concept of waiting to be shown to a table and then go and help yourself to the buffet. One of the resturants was having to share space with the buffet room, but the food was excellent. Not too keen on the bare foot resturant or the italian, have eate better elsewhere. Overall a great holiday very chilled out.

From the moment we arrived at the resort, all our dreams were fulfilled, the welcoming smiles of the very friendly staff were warming and inviting, not to mention the ice cold towels we were given to cool ourselves down, along with the ice cold rum cocktails to wet our appetites and get us excited for what was to come.

Check in was both quick and easy with no complications at all, to be honest the staff could not do enough for us. We were personally escorted to our room, which was a Water's Edge Honeymoon Penthouse Concierge Room, WOW!!! Waiting for us was a chilled bottle of Champagne for us to keep the day going as hoped. The room was stunning, with a 4 poster bed as the centre piece, which was beautifully dressed in Caribbean designs. From the balcony we had a fantastic view of the Caribbean Sea, it was breathtaking with the sun shimmering through the palm trees the setting was just perfect.

After relaxing by the pool before dinner, we participated in some pre dinner drinks before heading to the Oleander room for dinner, the setting was romantic but classy in an intimate table for 2, and the food was to die for, with a selection of meats and fish, the sword fish and lamb was scrumptious not to mention the champagne that washed it down! This restaurant was our favourite by far and entertained us a few evenings during our stay, although there were 6 other restaurants to sample too, including the Bayside Restaurant, which serves a selection of international dishes, and the Cucina Romana, were the pasta was fabulous. On our last evening we took the opportunity to go to Sandals Royal Caribbean, as the hotel offers free transfers to there and also to the Sandals Inn, we dined outside under the stars, the perfect setting for any couple. Well worth the visit!

Our favourite evening entertainment had to be the Jamaican Experience, the band were fantastic and really go into the spirit of things, the atmosphere was brilliant, and when the music stopped we headed to the Cricket Pub, for our late night snack of burger and chips, very healthy! not, but tasty.

The whole experience of Sandals really was one to remember and we would have absolutely no hesitation at all in returning again, the staff made the whole thing a trip to remember and we in the UK could learn a few things about hospitality and how to treat guests as they certainly made it a trip special.

The hotel is close to the airport so there was some considerable noise in the afternoon for an hour or so as the planes were taking off, however this inconvenience was diminished by the tremendous happy spirit amongst the staff and the whole mood of the resort.

The food was of more than a reasonable standard and no complaints.

The energy amongst the staff came alive around 10 am and built through the day with fun activities taking place all day and into the night. If one did not want to particpate it was great entertainment just being a spectator.
The resort is of a perfect size, and one never feels the place is over crowded or one is isolated.

The rooms were reasonable and we had no complaints
This is an older resort and the 1st impression is it is not up to standard, but it has a unique heart beat which diminishes the initial dissapointment entirely.

The Italian restaurant was closed and under renovation - we were not informed prior.

Their non-smoking policy was not being enforced and after a complaint, they did enforce it and as non-smokers we were very comfortable there. Pitty we had to suffer a few days and had to complain before they implemented their own policy.

The beach is great, clean and well groomed. It is in a great setting with many activities during the day focussed there.

The caribean music played during the day was fantastic and set the mood for the rest of the day.
A great range of snacks together with drinks was available all day on the beach.

We never thought we would be so sad to leave as we enjoyed our stay so much. We are returning again this year.

Our experience showed that it is the people/staff that make a resort what it is and not the fancy physical attributes.
