'Give us your body for a week and we'll give you back your mind' is The Body Holiday at Le Sport's motto and, having given them my body on several occasions, I can say this is certainly the case. I've been going there since 2000 with my most recent visit as Best Man for a friend's wedding who met his lovely wife at Le Sport. The wedding was organised by the hotel and the day went marvellously.
But what about the hotel itself? It's quite excellent. It's situated on a beautiful beach with more than enough sun loungers to make sure you've somewhere to soak up the sun. Free watersports include sailing, waterskiing and tubing (the rings behind the speed boat) while the diving, which costs extra, is fantastic with a combination of sites including wrecks and reefs (both static and drift diving). Best of all about the diving is most of the best places to go are in the south of the island (Le Sport is on the north west tip) which means a free boat ride down the coast and the chance to see the Pitons up close and personal. Of course, if this is all too much then lazing on the beach with a cocktail, brought to your lounger by the bar staff, is a pretty good way to go.
Food is incredible with a buffet for both breakfast and lunch on offer in the main Cariblue restaurant while dinner is waitress service with a good menu. Alternatively in the evening there's always a good barbecue (or something) in the clubhouse for those feeling casual, while the TAO restaurant does evening fine dining and is worth visiting for the Laksa soup alone. The hotel is all inclusive and importantly the drink on offer at the bar is still of a very good quality as opposed to a means to cut costs unlike in some other hotels.
Finally the treatments are well worth mentioning too. As a bloke I've never believed in the power of sea weed wraps and all body salt scrubs but let me tell you one thing gents, they are mighty fine. As a guest you get one free hour-long treatment a day and you will end up feeling most relaxed. Staff are also very helpful and friendly.
My only quibble would be some of the hotel feels a little bit dated and could do with a refurb. However, while we were there they were doing up some of the rooms and I understand a full make-over is coming up soon. I shall look forward to going back once the work has been done and seeing the changes they've made.
