We had a lakeside room (payable supplement), good view but the room itself was the smallest we had during our China trip. However as we didn't really spend much time in the room it didn't matter too much.
We arrived at 9.30am and they had a room ready for us so I was very impressed with that as it was well before check in time.
Room - The beds were very comfortable and we slept soundly without the need for earplugs. Stupidly there was 2 chairs, a table and a tall lamp right in front of the window which made closing the curtains very awkward. The wardrobe is small but it was enough for is as we were only there 2 nights. Bathroom is small but nicely equipped. Robes and slippers are provided. TV has English channels and there are tea and coffee making facilities. Mini bar choice is very poor.
There was an outside pool and small but well equipped gym. Neither of which we ever very busy.
The bar area had no atmopshere whatsoever. It was like sitting in a shopping mall as one side faces the shopping centre in the hotel and you can see into the restaurant on the other.
Food - Great choice of everything you'd expect for breakfast plus a guy cooking eggs to order. It was all tasty. However we ate in the restaurant on the first evening and it was awful. We had a set menu but it was really mucked up - dishes arrived intermittantly and the rice arrived when everything else was cold. Fair play to the manager though as when we complained he knocked money off our bill by not charging us for the room upgrade.
Staff were all very nice and the hotel is spotless.
