Beaches

The streets are free of litter and chewing gum and no dog mess either. There are a number of concerts at the monastery and in the village every Friday is a fish festival. The beaches are shingle but beach shoes are available in the resort for about £5. Beds and umbrellas are readily available and the beaches are exceptionally clean. Zlatni Rat beach just a 10 min walk away and is very beautiful. The beach is sheltered but in the afternoons the wind picks up and you can hire windsurfs, boats, pedaloes etc.

Bol is very nice. The beaches (all pebbles and stone) are excellent and some of the cleanest I've come across. The sea is crystal clear and the views are great. Not a lot of entertainment - certainly nothing "wild" but a number of very cheap and excellent bars and restaurants and a cinema. Nothing for kids outside of the hotel apart from a few things on the beach. The island of Brac is quite wild and unspoilt - Bol is at least 1.5 hours from Split by coach, ferry and coach again but we felt it was worth it.
If you go be sure to go to the bar/restaurant on the beach nearest the hotel. The staff there were fantastic - looking after our little girl whilst we had a meal and so friendly. The food is excellent as well.
Go to Croatia - we found the people very welcoming and the whole expereince was positive. We'd go back again.
