The Bonaca Hotel opened its doors to guests in 1999 and is made up of eight pavilions built around a central reception building. It is situated amongst beautiful pine trees, just a short walk from the centre of Bol and about 150 metres from the beach.

We visited the hotel in September 2002. It is a modern complex aimed mainly at German families with some Italians and very few (no) other English people. This wasn't a problem and we enjoyed the hotel a great deal. It is spotless with rooms cleaned every day. We stayed in a family suite with two bedrooms, living room and bathroom. Nothing special but bright, modern and clean. The hotel is very close to the beach and about 10 minutes walk along a promenade to Bol town. The staff were pleasant but had limited English - it helps if you can speak a bit of German. Entertainment was very much pitched at the kids with discos and it was all in German. The kids club was good and our little girl (4) had a great time although again it was mainly conducted in German the leaders could speak a bit of English. The food is quite basic but there is lots of it and the choice of drinks is good.
