Just spent two weeks in Bol at the Riu Borak which is 10 mins walk to Zlatni Rat beach and 10 mins walk from Bol centre.
The hotel is brilliant, plenty of facilities, friendly staff (especially the bar staff), just above the beach and has it's own beach restaurant.
The hotel has a kids club but our brochure states that there are no kids under 12yrs. There were plenty, just not british kids.
The neighbouring hotel Riu Bonaca was geared more for kids with more swimming pools. Both hotels have excellent entertainment reps (animacion) who speak good English. Some aspects of the hotel/resort is aimed more at the Germans, but mainly because for the likes of Thomson/Thomas Cook, they have only just been sending Brits to the resort for about a year.
The Croatian people seem to like the British, are very friendly towards you and will bend over backwards to help.
We found most staff had a good understanding of English.
Hotel food was excellent, fresh fish and meat cooked in front of you, great salad bar.
Hotel also has a small playground.
They even showed every world cup match on a projection screen.
