Lovely old building in a great location, needs a thorough redecoration and some serious soundproofing and aircon and it could be wonderful.
The hotel suffers mostly from shabbiness, and the drunken early morning singing of Italian tourists. We suffered from the night time heat as we had to sleep with closed windows and earplugs, eventually got a fan which helped, but the reception staff were not exactly helpful.
Don't understand why anyone would go half board here as Hvar is crammed with gorgeous little restaurants and the hotel food looked dull and mean portioned. Breakfast was reasonable.
Unfortunately this hotel and many others in the town are state owned so suffer from a lack of cash to do them up. Shame as this place could be so much better.

The hotel was noisy and shabby - I would have thought it was a 2/3 star hotel. The breakfasts were good and the breakfast waiting staff helpful. The reception staff were diabolical. On our first night we were put in one of the back rooms even though we had booked a sea view (mysteriously they could not tell us this until we got there, despite having our e-mail address). This room was above the kitchen and it felt like we were sleeping IN a fish and chip shop. The drilling at 12 midnight only added to the greasy atmosphere. When we complained that we had been put in staff quarters the manager laughed at us. I would not recommend this hotel. The square it overlooks is very busy with drunken clubbers at around 2-4am.
