Hotel Hedera is the middle of a complex of 3 hotels sited in a bay at the entrance to Rabac. The hotel has been modernised in the last 3 years. Rooms have satellite TV (not many programmes in English though), telephone, bath and shower, and balcony. You pay extra for a room on the sea side. Rooms are comfortable, plenty of clothes storage space, although not enough coat hangers.
Restaurant is a buffet-style, with plenty of food and constantly being replenished. Breakfast is oriented towards continental, as the main guests are German and Italian, so if you like ham, cheese etc. for breakfast you'll be OK.
Food was very nice, plenty of choice for the evening meal, and a choice of desserts.
Prices in the bar were reasonable, although cheaper in the village bars.
We were the only 2 English guests in our hotel as far as we could tell, but most staff speak English and were very helpful.
Only minus point: our room was near some sort of generator that came on at 5.30am and went off at 10.30 pm, so tended to be a bit noisy. Ask for a room away from the pool/dining room. Also they were putting in new electricity pipes on the top road so there was constant drilling but this should be finished by end June.
Thoroughly recommend the Hedera to anyone who likes a holiday in a quiet relaxing location with beautiful scenery.
