Limassol is a major city with a tourist area. There is the old town with medieval castle and the harbour and an old street with lots of touristy shops. For a major city I did not get the impression that it was dirty.
There appreared to be plenty of bars restarants and clubs which we did not use as we were all inclusive. The beach is ok and clean but not that inviting.
This is our second visit to Limasoll and will probably come back but not for a while.

Resort was clean, and the entertainment was so-so, would not go back to this resort as everything is too spaced out.Must say the cypriot people are very friendly and will return to cyprus but not this resort, Protaras is much nicer.

the resort could do with a clean up ,garden areas and pavements very dirty a lot of the pubs and places to eat are closed down due the euro .
the police have no control on the clowns in cars and bikes on the main street its a free for all they race 70mph + they just drive up and down the streets ignoring traffic lights speed limits etc.
not the best resort in cyprus

No real beach....a very small strip of sand with concrete type boulders.
Limassol also very busy and has no real cypriot charm. It looks more like a busy london high street, but with more taverna's. I can't really say much about Limassol as there really wasn't much there apart from shops & bars.
I chose to explore the island with the tour reps offers.
My memorable visits were for Northern Cyprus
You can do a visit to a village that does traditional lace making, visit troodos mountains and the monastery, Aphrodites Rock (very expensive cafe that you stop at. Beware that they do try to rip you off both on cost of products and change given),The Keo distillery & water park...probably lots more, but can't remember them.
Various archaeology sites to visit.
Northern Cyprus is beautiful as it still has the old Cypriot/Turkish charm. This is also where most of the history of the island is.
The history of Famagusta is sad and it's even worse when you see that time has stood still for all the old Greek Cypriot properties, though they are pretty decayed.
Kyrenia is Very picturesque and friendly. I would recommend that you visit the castle and allow plenty of time for this as it's pretty big and great to explore - kids will love it.
You will also find that it is far cheaper in Northern Cyprus due to the New Turkish Lira. They will accept Euro's and give change in Euros. Please remember that you can't bring Cigarettes and alcohol back over the Nicosia border due to Northern Cyprus not being part of the EU.
If you are going to northern cyprus take a camera, bottle of water & comfy shoes. Before you leave try a Raki & some Lokumi or Baklava.

We didn't go into the resort on our trip as we wanted a complete relaxation beach holiday.

The resort of limassol is very quiet there is a few shops on the front but if you want to go into limassol town itself its a 20 min drive in a taxi. The beach is very small but the sea is lovely.

Limassol is a lovely place to stay with plenty to do from a single person to oap status! The shop prices are quite reasonable and there are plenty of bars and cafes to explore! Be warned the beach is a pebble beach but looked really inviting!!!

I didn't like this resort. where we stayed the beach wasn't great and i feel there wasn't many restaurants unless you got the bus or a taxi.
if you go to this resort make sure your hotel has got what you need otherwise you may have to travel a bit.

Beaches not the greatese in limassol, having visited all other parts of island they are better elsewhere, lots of hotels/apartments/pubs/restaurants have gone over the years and appears more to be of residential interest now, with lots of modern cafe bars coming up, these tended to be used more by locals.
