The hotel is in a superb location for a stroll to the harbour and the Paphos fort which we did several times whilst we were there.
The Plus Points:
The room was well laid out with a small Juliette type balcony which housed a couple of chairs and a small round table, 2 chairs in the room and a table, plenty of wardrobe space, a free safety deposit box, tea & coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, flat screen tv and free WiFi (a must these days).
We had a seaview room which looked across the ornamental fish pond and decking area facing the fort and the harbour.
There was a complimentary bottle of water on the table by the window in our room and alongside the tea & coffee facilities were a packet of biscuits and a half bottle of red wine (note: the biscuits and wine are not complimentary)....
The beds were lovely and comfortable, thick white dressing gowns to lounge around in are also supplied as well as the expected bathroom toiletries.
The Negatives:
We found the check-in a little tedious which makes us wonder what happens when a coach load of people from Mercury Direct holidays arrive...
We passed through the hands of 5 people before we were finally escorted to our room. The porter/concierge, a receptionist who took our details, the bartender who brought us a drink while we waited, a guy who I don't really know what he did except hand our keys over to a very smartly dressed lady who took us to our room.
We struggled to get a decent pot of tea or coffee as every pot we received was only lukewarm. We assume they are filled and left on standby waiting for a waiter to come and whisk them off to a table.
Some parts of the hotel could do with a little TLC. (Carpet was coming away in parts of the corridors, the bathroom door in our room was in need of replacing plus the bathroom design is quite dated).
Would we stay again?
I'm sure we will.
Is it a 5 star hotel?
I would say in comparison to the more modern hotels which have arrived in Paphos more recently, it would be safer to class the Annabelle as a 4 star due to some of the issues already mentioned above.
However, I understand there are to be some renovations and that some rooms may have already been done.

Hotel tip: Seaview rooms on a high floor offer a better view to Paphos fort and harbour.

We were greeted with warm, damp towels to freshen up on our arrival, and a receptionist joining us in the lounge to fill in the necessary paperwork, which set the high standard for our stay!
The staff were friendly, professional and knowledgeable and all the facilities were scrupulously clean and in good order. Our room was spacious, cleaned and tidied daily, towels etc replaced twice daily if they had been used. We also had a sunny balcony wih a sea view.
The buffet-style breakfast was superb, though we were a little disappointed with the food in the hotel restaurant when compared with several high-quality restaurants we visited in the vicinity. W
e didn't sit in the hotel bar in the evening but heard a succession of slightly off-key, overambitious singers in there when we were walking through the reception area....which persuaded us NOT to stay and listen! We found this amusing rather than annoying and it didn't spoil our very enjoyable stay.
