The room was extremely clean, the maid came every day (a little too early for our liking - 9am)
Although the apartments were self-catering there was a bar next to the pool which served a wide variety of food which was lovely - all the usual stuff like breakfasts, salads, burgers, omelette's and then Cypriot dishes.
The apartments were a 15 minute walk to Protaras by the sea path which was fine during the day but we didn't attempt it in the dark as there are no lights and it is a rocky path in places. There is a lovely cafe 5 minutes down this path which is great for lunch. The walk back along the main road took about 30 minutes. Pererna was a 5 minute walk although this is a much smaller resort but still plenty or restaurants and bars to choose from.
The staff were brilliant, a real family run business whom I'm sure would do anything to help you. We stayed just after Easter and they were busy planning the entertainment programme for the summer.
If we were to come back to Cyprus at Easter we would come back to this apartment as it was everything we could have asked for.

When we arrived at Platomare it was early in the morning sun was shining and the place looked great.
Our rooms were spotless. We had a balcony with a sea view.
The pool was a good size and very clean. Its one of the only family run hotels and all the staff were very friendly.
The food was excellent.
The location was brillant 5 min walk to the beach and Penera with a pleasant walk in to Protaras where you have excellent restaurants and shops. Local people are very helpful and friendly.
The only way to see the island is to hire a car which we did and we travelled into Larnaca, Nicosia the capital down into Limassol up to the Troodos mountains to see snow and be in 4 degrees in your shorts is cold believed me coming down through all the small villiges that have stood still in time. Then to sit at Pafos harbour and have your tea in 16 degrees is unbeleivable and sights that have to be seen with the naked eye to appreciate.Cape Gkreko to do the nature trail is worth the walk and of course not forgetting Famagusta and its history which would bring a tear to your eye when your at Anita's view point and looking over ghost town.
If you are as adventerous as us to go over the border north to the Turkish side and view the sights from that side you will come home with unforegettable memories of Cyprus and these are the reasons for our return in August. Same place, same hotel.

Fantastic location, with a short walk along the coastal path to Protaras.
Pool area was spotless, and the general upkeep is very good.
Staff are especially friendly and helpful. Jean is the loveliest lady and always has a happy smile!
Will definitely go back, but hoping to get a sea view this time.

We had breakfast at the hotel every day which was served with a smile and the breakfast was lovely. The maids cleaned daily and to a high standard. The maintenance man at the hotel worked his socks off keeping the gardens and pool to a high standard.
All the staff were so friendly and lovely to us. Cocktails on a Tuesday

The only downside to this particular hotel was its location. Everything else was absolutely superb.
Entertainment - excellent.
Recommend the BBQ and Fire Dancer - food was brilliant
Cleanliness - excellent
Rooms were kept very cleaned if you needed anything, just act the reception day or night
Staff - excellent
The maintenance man was for ever doing something, cutting grass, checking the pool, etc - brilliant
Like I said the location did let it down, in our opinion. Yes, its near a beach - which was rather good. However, if you want to go by bus, the bus stop is a bit of a trek. Even to reach to resort area where Knights / Waterloo pubs are - its a good 15 / 20 Min's walk.
Recommend the restaurant almost opposite Waterloo BTW, great Greek food.
If the hotel was somewhere nearer to Knights etc, it would have been 100 % and that's saying something.
If anyone else was there when we were ( 10th - 24 th Sept )- remember this
" Get out of the pool " - Ben you naughty boy ( lol )

The Platomare is in a good location, not too close to all the noisy bars, but within 10-15 mins walk away from Pernera Centre. Beach is about 1-2 mins walk.
Very lovely staff all very helpful and friendly.
Recommend the quiz with Jean and the BBQ too.
Will definately be going back here.

Hotel was nice, clean enough with good maid service ( some days we asked her to leave us till next day !)
Didn't eat there much but did have breakfast a few times which was good.
Staff seemed friendly enough and little shop was open 24/7 for any basics you may need.

There are many more families that return every year too, it's amazing how you can go back one year later and see all the same faces from the year before not just the staff but the guests too.
We have never had any problems with anything there, we've always felt everything is perfect.
The cleaning staff have always been excellent and worked hard in keeping the hotel clean and as for the person who wrote 'The cleaners don't know what a broom is for' ..in that kind of climate you don't use a broom, washing the floor is more effective than sweeping whatever mess YOU make out the way, surely?
The hotel is self catering, but theres always the bar to order from. They have a wide ranged menu to choose from, but if none of the meals suit your taste you can always ask for a meal to be made specilly, i mean i asked for tuna, chicken nuggets, feta cheese and chips and i got it, they do go out of there way to please you.
The location of the hotel is ideal couple of minutes walk to the beach not far to the town, and many supermarkets and resturants close by.
The hotel staff are amazing!
They're the reason we go back every year!
Nothings too much trouble for them, any help you need there happy to help.
Again to the same person who said 'The owners didn't give you the time of day'
That's genuinly made me angry, thats a ridiculous statement, i've seen some really horrible guests at the hotel over the years and the owners would still do there very best to take care of there every need.
Entertainment is great too, theres not karaoke everynight, which is good cause drunk people singing badly once a week is bad enough, there is a quiz night which is always a laugh! ..and as i said the towns not far if you do want to party everynight its easy to get to..
im 17 almost 18 and i've never had any problem with the entertainment.
So if you're reading these reports to see if you want to choose this hotel for your holiday, i would say ignore the, two bad reports and listen to the people who say it was great, cause it truely is an amazing place to be.
Me and my family will definitely be keeping up our holiday traditions at the platomare.
Thanks for reading.

The entertainment is good, but if you want more varied entertainment there is plenty in the bars in nearby Protarus. The pool is clean and fresh and there are plenty of sunbeds and parasols to go round. No need to "reserve with towel"!
We enjoyed our stay very much it was relaxing and laid back. All cocktails
