we stayed in the figtree apartments on an all inclusive package. food was ok but a proper meal wasnt available to us when we arrived on the first evening we got offered some unappetizing curled up sandwiches and the alcohol was watered down alot. the hotel was clean especially the pool areas and the maids worked really hard as our rooms were cleaned every day. the hotel its self was in a fab location close to the marlita beach and protaras town which was excellent for shopping and good nights out. the entertainment at the hotel however was very disappointing, not entertaining at all so we spent every evening in protaras town.( why do holiday reps think we love to go on holiday and listen to greece or saturday night fever etc.) the hotel staff were very polite and worked long hours. we were told when we booked everything was in with the all inclusive package so we were annoyed when we had to pay for air con ( which didnt work properly in one of our rooms) and the safty deposit boxes. we would go back to protaras but not in that hotel.

We stayed in the Tsokkos Fig Tree Apt. part of the Tsokkos Gardens. Although the food was edable (Dinners, dinners, dinners!!!) every meal had exactly the same taste, after the first week we cracked and decided to eat out. Having said that the snacks at the pool bar were excellent and breakfast was quite good. Some of the all inclusive drinks tasted of detergent and drinks were watered down on an evening. The entertainment was awful.
On a possitive note the pool areas were great and spotless and some of the staff were realy friendly.
I must warn anyone stopping at Tsokkos Gardens, when eating in either of the resteraunts hang on to your plates, in the blink of an eye the waiters will clear them away - whether you have finished or not!

We stayed in the Tsokkos Gardens Apts.
The room was of a good size and the maids came in everyday to make the beds, change towels etc.
We found the food was ok, what you would expect on all inclusive. There was plenty of it but it became a bit predictable during the 2nd week.
The snacks at the poolside bar were excellent and kept the children happy !!
The pool at the Apts was much quieter than the Hotel pool, and if you don't want to take heavy beach towels you can obtain free beach towels at reception (deposit

It was great. I loved jonny because he is funny and really cracks you up.
The pool area is great and the pool bar is handy if your hungry or something.
The staff are good they make really good friends with the kids. There are lots of children there but that is good if you have children.
The water parks are very good, and there is a lot there for the kids.
The food is lovely and the rooms are cleaned daily.
I really enjoyed it and I hope if you go that you will enjoy it to.

Hotel was of a very good standard, very clean, staff allways willing to help. Food was varied and allways hot. Hotel was in an ideal location ideal for familes with small childen as there is no busy roads. Entertainment was ok some nights but other nights not so good.

We stayed here half board for two weeks. Hotel rooms were of a good size and cleaned daily. Breakfast was the usual full English, cereal and continental although you must not be late at the stoke of ten everything disappears and dinning room is plundged into darkness.
This however could be an advantage when it comes to dinner as most of the food is unrecognisable and of such poor standard that it is better not to see what you were eating. my 13 year old daughter survived on bread rolls for two weeks.
If this wasn't bad enough the same things were on the menu the second week on exactly the same nights as the previous week so you knew what was coming! I would strongly recommend anyone on halfboard to ask at reception to swap the evening meal for lunch as this looked a better option.
Try the station pub just across the road for the evening meal, or travel to Protaras centre where there are lots of restaurants with lots of choice and very good prices.

We Went to Tsokkos Gardens 16 June 2004 for 2 weeks, and will be going back this year 2005! We were really happy with this hotel.
The cleanliness is exceptional, our room was a good size and we had 2 children and a baby! Our balcony was double the size of the room!
Good advice is to request a room away from the pool as the entertainment is by the pool and it can be very noisy if you have to go to bed early! The bathroom a bit black in the grout here and there but was still very clean. The cleaners are in daily and do a good job.
When we went our youngest was 6 months old and I was very worried about taking him, however this was not a problem and I was able to sterilise bottles in the room and take his own 'jar' food to the restaurant. Jar food in Cyprus can be brought at the general stores and pharmacy but you will find they are for 7 months+ only and they have 2 choices, also a

Beautiful swimming pools and pool area. Rooms were quite a good size and I liked that we had somewhere to sit and have a cup of tea both indoors and on the balcony. The food was pretty good - lots of it.
The downside of the hotel was that none of the pools were heated - not even the indoor pool and we found it just to cold to swim in. It was even colder than the sea! The hotel staff's response was that they didn't need to put it on as it wasn't in the agreement with the tour operators!!
It was very cold at the beginning of the holidays, but the hotel had the airconditioning on and when it warmed up after a few days, they put the heating on, then switched everything off!!
The menu outside the dining room bore no relation to what was actually being served up that day. The food wasn't labelled, I found myself eating squid with my green salad one night, to my horror.
The entertainment was dreadful, very amateurish on the whole, a load of young teenagers who had just learned their routines that day. I have to say that Anthony Hall the singer/comedian was the exception, he was brilliant. The drinks seemed watered down, whether this was because it was an all-inclusive hotel, I don't know.
Despite having a noticeboard by the reception desk, the management failed to keep customers informed on what what was going on in the hotel- for instance, a notice appeared on the lift door the night before that there would be a power cut the next morning, but failed to mention that they would still be serving up breakfast.

The location of this hotel isn't fantastic, it is quite a walk into Portaras and to the beach. However the pool is fantastic and there are a few bars and restaurants near by which are good. The food is ok, the evening meal doesn't have a lot of choice but the salad is nice and there are a few different kinds of salads available which you can fill up on. The breakfast though is much better, but you have to get there early.
The entertainment wasn't upto much but there are a lot of things to do in Portaras itself and taxis are cheap.
Over all the hotel is lovely. The staff are helpfull, and I had a wonderfull holiday!
