My wife and I recently visited the Bougainvillea hotel apartments in Polis - our 10th visit in fact. We have nothing but praise for the owner Stavros and all his staff. The apartments are well kept, food in the bar area was very good. There was no organised entertainment as such(which you do not need) but a short walk into the village square ensured a fully entertaining evening. Although in a quiet village one could not wish for more pleasant surroundings and helpfull staff. We have already booked again for next year.

Bougainvillea apartments are basic, but have everything you need for a self-catering holiday.
The staff and owner were welcoming and the setting/gardens are very pleasant. However, the air conditioning was better left off because it was noisy, the rooms close to the reception are subject to returning guests and bar noise and there was building works starting at 07.15 next to the apartments.
I also recommend that you do not build up a snack bar tab/bill even if it is only for a few days as ours was a lot higher than it should have been.
We also had some items go missing from our room i.e. several items of costume jewellery and a lipstick. You would have to lock everything including toiletries in your case as the hotel safes are very small.
The sofa beds in the living area are fine for children, but you can feel the wooden slats through them so they are very uncomfortable for adults.
Polis is quiet and just a 5 minute walk away and the surrounding areas are beautiful.
We would go back to Polis, but not to the Bougainvillea.

We stayed at Bougainvillea Hotel/Apartments in Polis Cyprus. This was our second visit and just as pleased as the first time. Well run, clean establishment.
We will return.Accommodation in row of apartments with living accomm downstairs bedroom /bathroom upstairs.
Well kept gardens and clean terraces, walkways, and pool area.Abundance of bougainvillea hence the apt name.
