I cannot speak highly enough of this holiday village.
We have enjoyed Keycamp holidays in France the last couple of years we have also done packages to the med before and vowed never to return, noisy rooms, tacky resorts, no air con, awful hotel food, etc..
This is different. The holiday village is beautifully designed, well laid out and is kept in very good condition.
The food is better than in some 5 star hotels that I have stayed in on business trips.
The village is far enough out of Protaras that it is quiet but close enough if you want to go into town or to the beach, a good 10 minute walk to the top of town, 20 mins to the beach, but there is a free bus every hour during the day. The hill is not as steep as some of these reports make out but It would be a different matter with very small children!
The 1 bed apartment we stayed in had 2 good air con units that were free but we could not keep them on at night as they were noisy, also the fridge is deafening if you sleep on the sofa beds in the main room! However the apartment itself was large, well kept and clean and all units have their own private terrace outside, complete with patio furniture. Our apartment was right at the top of the village and was quiet (we asked for a quiet one) however I suspect that the ones down by the village square would be very noisy at night if you were not joining in with the entertainment. However this was fairly low key and family orientated and seemed to be finished around 11-11:30 every night.
The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly, they even hauled our 60kg of suitcases all the way up to our apartment when we arrived.
There were more than enough sun beds by the pool at this time of year in fact there was a pile of spare ones at the side that you could help yourself to. I expect though that this gets overcrowded in the height of summer.
My only disappointment was that it went so quick!

Brilliant!!! We upgraded to a two bed room but really did not need too as the apartment was huge.
Very clean, staff very helpful if probs in apartment came within 10 mins of phone call.
We are going back next year and the main reason being the kids club, we have two children age 3 years and 6 years, and they loved it, it was a secure building which you sign them in and out and we could not get them out some days. The kids club staff were lovely and I felt very confident leaving my children in their care.
The entertainment is basic but the staff who run it were great and involved the whole family.
It was very quiet in May only 25% full so no probs with sunbeds ever. It was expensive around the pool but the shop was reasonable.
I would recommend this to anyone with a young family as this is the first time in 6 years myself and my husband spent time together for an hour or two without the children we came back relaxed and children had a great time.
We can't wait to go back!!

My self and partner visited this hotel in late September 2004, which meant it was quite quiet which suited us fine.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel clean and well maintained.
Air conditioning was provided at no extra cost. Safety deposit boxes were located in each room as well, there was a daily/weekly charge for the use of them, but this was very small.
We stayed in this hotel on a self catering basis and so did not sample much food, however we did have breakfast most of the week which was excellent value (

We stayed here in May 2003. We were impressed. Rooms are clean with Air conditioning. The pool is large with a section for children (sun beds near kid pool fill up pretty quickly!). The poolside bar offered a variety of food which was lovely. The kids had plenty of activities to do thank to the hotel run kids club. 8 year old loved the afternoon football and didn't mind the heat. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but the food always smelt lovely. Mind you there are lots of lovely restaurants in town
The staff are very friendly throughout the hotel and both the boys got hand made birthday cards from the hotel when it was their birthday. My eldest even had his picture on it from when we had stayed. He thought that was brilliant.
The only downside is THAT hill. Quick walk down, but with two tired children at the end of the evening its a long walk up!!. A taxi back will only cost you a couple of pound if you can't face the walk.
If you have small children the Protaras water park is good value. It only has about 5 chutes but my 8 year old loved it. The year before we had gone to Water World in Ayia Napa and they couldn't go on a lot of the rides. At Protaras water park there are no queues, loads of sun beds, and most of the 18 -30s go to Ayia napa .With your tickets you get a discount if you want to visit again.
We love Protaras, this being our second year. We would definitely stay at the Ayios Elais if we were to go again, but we fancy a change. We envy you if you are staying here this year. Have a great time
