Only book here if you are very easily pleased.........or absolutely desperate.........
Hotel is situated in the centre of town, and accessed up a series of steps, reception staff need a hospitality training programme.
Bar staff need to be trained in all aspects of hospitality and bar service. Not least glass washing and presentation.
Buffet style meals were a free for all, with old worn out crockery, the glaze was no longer glazed.
All in all a Disaster of 16 hours duration.
We checked into the Le Meridiene at Makadi Bay all inclusive 35 km away for only

The hotel was very clean and being cleaned all the time.
Our room was small-ish but very nice apart from being adjoined to the room next door where you here everything (and I mean everything)that goes on in the next room. We did complain and was moved into yet another adjoining room, We complained again and were moved into another adjoining room were you could still hear people clearly as if they were in our room but the reception staff insisted the room was vacant, we know this wasn't true as we could see shadows under the door... not very impressed at that. They also insisted that all the rooms were adjoining but our rep knows this isn't the truth either.
Hotel building itself is lovely.
Restaurant food leaves a little to be desired but is ok seeing as your on holiday. I wouldn't stay here again though.

Hotel hallways outside your rooms. The man hole covers are raised and are not well lit. So caution is advised.
The rooms are very basic but ok.
Food was edible but it seemed you had the same food every day.
The hotel beach is great but you do get hassled by people selling trips. It's also on the main road which you don't hear.
The entertainment was very poor

This is the second time we have stayed at the Aquafun, as the location and the sealife is second to none.
Hotel is All Inclusive, though not to be compared with an All inclusive on the Med! As drinks are of limited variety and not always cold, though there is no restriction to the amount you can drink, and no queues! Drinks that are available though include a very good red and white wine, Stella lager, brandy, vodka and other spirits (no cocktails, unless you pay, but these are only

We have now been to Hurghada for 3 yrs. The Hotel Aqua Fun is the lowest star rating we have stayed in. The staff are great if you treat them with respect, learn some basic arabic prior to your visit or learn it from the staff - they love it if you speak to them in arabic.
The accomodation is basic but you only sleep in it. Bathrooms are small but adequate. The food is varied, different roast each night, veg, rice, pasta, great salad bar, soup, sweet selection limited but lovely.
The restaurant is described as "oriental", forget it. It is clean and the staff, especially waiters and chefs are helpful (I have garlic allergy and not once was I given anything with garlic in it).
The housekeepers provide a good service (including some weird animals made out of towels and blankets this includes flowers spread around the room). The overall standard is good, however some of the toilets are in need of renewing and there seemed to be a distinct lack of soap in the dispensers.
The location is great, 50 yards from Reception the Papas bar, 100 yards left is Papas liquid bar cushion & hammocks, chill out music and drinks with the sea lapping the shore. A short bus ride Papas beach bar, multiple bars on the beach with dico, always crowded great music and atsmosphere, Calypso disco small walk (full of Russians).
Great swimming pool and beach with its own Coral reef. Duty free shop 150 yards away (remember to get your stuff within 48 hrs or arriving or lose out). Multiple cafe's and fish restaurants (El Mena is the one to head for a short bus ride - the locals use it so it cant be that bad).
Entertainment is ok volleyball/patonk/aroebics and night entertainment. Great massage/turkish bath on site (

The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The food was nice but it's chicken and beef every day.
The entertainment was very cheaply put together.
I think the location was the best in Hurghada as only few hotels have their own beach as this was one of them.

The hotel is situated in the centre of Hurghada, which is very good, also a pharmacy and a market are very close, across the street.
You can change money in the hotel wich is also very good. Rooms are not that good, matrasses need to be changed real urgent!! need to be cleaned more, not just brushing... Showering is not a nice thing, cause the whole bathroom-floor will be wet.
Food is not good, actually I think it's bad... I am a vegetarian so i don't know about the meat and the fish... I was a week in this hotel but i don't got sick also my girlfriend. So just wash your hands regulary, and be carefull what you eat.
no 4 stars like they say... maybe 3 stars
