This is definitely a 5 star hotel. We stayed in late November and the weather was fabulous wall to wall sunshine hitting 32 degrees.
The hotel is just as the name suggests, a palace.
Rooms are huge and very comfortable.
Staff very friendly.
All in all a perfect place to stay and a perfect holiday. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

How fabulous! This hotel is a palace ! We arrived in the evening when it was going dusk it is lit up like fairyland really beautiful. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the food selection was lovely in all the buffet style resturants we also tried the resturants that you need to book and they were fantastic. The pools were great, the evening entertainment was great for the kids especially. the beach was really lovely with a coral reef to see the fish very clearly make sure you take shoes to wear when going into the sea.The weather was perfect a constant 30 degrees and lovely and warm in the evening to.Would definately go again without question. fantastic!

Arrived late Friday evening, hotel looked absolutely stunning. It went downhill from there. Went to pool first morning, caught gardener with hand in one of party's handbag. Returned to room to discover our duty free goods, jewellery and shaving gel had been stolen. Hotel not really interested, rep said we could go to police but we would be treated like criminal. By Sunday one of group became ill with upset stomach. The rest of the group (16 in total) followed suit and were still poorly six weeks after return home. One of children so bad doctor considered hospitalising him. All treated for dysentery and e coli. Wasnt just us, plenty of other guests ill, indeed coach home only had 6 people on board who were not ill. Caught serving staff using same tongs on raw and cooked chicken. Rooms not suites as stated in brochure. Pool and bar staff good and a tip went a long way to getting service. Night entertainment not very good, mimed show and repeated second week. No one in group would go again EVER. Waste of

Booked a last minute holiday to the 5 star Makadi Palace. It is indeed a 5 star hotel with huge rooms, fantastic food, friendly, helpful staff and we would definitely return again.
The entertainment is the usual shows, i.e. dancing, mini disco and singers but this is acceptable.
The hotel is on the beach and provides beach towels every day and even your beach bag! On the beach, they set out your beds and lay out your towels, etc.
The food was out of this world. We ate at the Mexican, the Italian and the Thai (my favourite). We visited the Thai twice and this was no problem (some hotels only allow one visit per restaurant). Even in the beach area snack bar, it was a BBQ with freshly grilled chicken fillets etc. The buffet restaurant food was of the same high standard.
The room was a king size bed which was turned down every night, a separate lounge area with a couch and dressing area, then the balcony complete with two padded sunloungers, table and parasol. Clean towels are brought to your room every evening (warm from drier).
The only money we spent was on tipping (US dollars) and when downtown in Hurghada buying souvenirs.
We booked this last minute and only paid
