I must first say that this hotel is not 5*, I would say 3 1/2 at best. It is an easy transfer from the airport and looks nice from the outside. The staff from reception to room cleaners and waiters are all very couteeous and always happy.
The general fabrique of the hotel and grounds are very well kept and cleaned regularly, but the rooms are a little tired.
The hotel is located a short ride from Naama Bay, just outside Sharks Bay on it's own beach along with another two hotels. The beach is spacious and we found plenty of sun beds.
The hotel food was not to my liking, with neither the standard associated with 4*+ hotels although there were never any cases of illness, just in my opinion a lack of options.
The only bar open while we were there was the reception bar which at a push could seat 50 people. As it turned out 20 would have been enough as the poor entertainment frightened everyone into Naama Bay of an evening.Belly dancers entertained us for 30 minutes 3 times a week and African dancers twice, although a singer / guitarist played every night.
This type of entertainment will keep the hotel drinks bill down when they go AI this summer.

We have just returned home from The Conrad, and what a fantastic holiday we had!
From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the extremely friendly staff. They were particularly good with our two boys (aged 7 & 5). Nothing was too much trouble.
When we were shown to our hotel room we found that we were missing one child's bed, but this was quickly remedied. As was the broken tap on the bath. These were the only problems we had with our room.
The room was great. It overlooked the private, beautiful sandy beach and clear blue sea and was very convenient when our children needed the toilet!
There was a jetty to snorkel from, and the fish were beautiful. We bought a re-usable underwater camera from one of the hotel shops, it cost 120 EP (aprox

Hotel was clean and comfortable, although I thought the bedroom which we stayed in could do with a bit of a refurbish looked a bit tired......Everywhere else in the hotel was spotless. The floors gleamed like glass.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
We ate in the hotel on the first night, which was a themed buffet, (they do a different theme every night i.e. French, Italian, Northern). The food was good and cost around

The Conrad was one the nicest hotels I have stayed at.
First impressions of the hotel were good, it had been a long day and all we wanted to do was check in as quickly as possible and then go to dinner, so we were pleased when the check in for everyone only took about 5 minutes. We were then escorted to our rooms in a group with our luggage to follow. (Just a point to note we were told that the luggage would be left outside our room if we weren

I have been there 12 times and am getting back soon. Yes, it's the right place to stay, for friendly staff, climate, food. A great place in any sense. Guido Grassi
