Well, after reading some negative reviews on here i dont think we stayed at the same hotel!!. Never in all our years travelling have we stayed in a complex where EVERY member of staff works so hard, including the gardeners to the Reps and entertainment team. They may not be the most talented singers in the world, but quite a few of them hold there tunes very well. God knows how they have the energy to perform in that heat all season, so well done to a hard working team.
The staff in the hotel cannot do enough to help, we found them most courteous and helpful.
The hotel and gardens are kept immaculate thanks to a hard working staff.I would have no problem in saying this was a 4 star hotel, even the choice of food was adequate in the main dining room.
We only ventured out of the hotel complex once to do a submarine trip which was out of this world. This was booked with the Aquarius guys down on the beach. Seeing is believing so were told, well if you want to see the eighth wonder of the world, go book this trip!!
All in all we had already booked for 2010 before we came away, im so glad we did,and we only have 350 days to wait!!!!

We have just returned from the holiday village and my daughter who is 11 is still recovering from cronic food posioning. The holiday was a joke the staff don't do anytyhing for you unless your tipping. The food is disgusting in buffet and rubbish a la carte. Everyone in our family got terribly sick and the stomache cramps had us all in agony near enough the whole 2 weeks we were there. I was chatting to one of the entertainment team Jodie who said all the reps get ill at least once a month and they all try to avoid eating at the hotel!!!!! Most of the English staff we talked to are leaving as they can't stand working at the holiday village due to food and illness. But are told by first choice not to tell the guests. But Jodie now feels we shouldn't be putting up with it! The drinks are awful and served warm from a fithy looking bar, in tiny plastic cups.
The rooms are lovely appart from the bathroom that is grotty around the shower/bath area.
The entertainment team are great with the little ones, but adult entertainment is terrible.
I would NEVER EVER go anywhere through First Choice again. The holiday village Turkey has been on Watch dog for the same reasons food posioning. If you have a holiday booked for either Egypt holiday village or Turkey holiday village CANCEL IT!!!!

This was our fist visit to a first choice holiday village and will certaintly be our last. Flight was ok once the little tv's worked. Was at least an hour into flight before t'v's were working. Otherwie ok.
First impressions once we got into reception of hotel we were overwhelmed with how marvellous it looked. This didn't last long when we got into our rooms. We were greeted by huge rooms but grubby showers and floors. Dodgy electric switches that were falling to bits and light fittings hanging out of ceiling.
I have to agree that there were poor finishes all over the room. It looked really rushed.
Again I have to agree with comments about food although they did do some fab food in the buffet alot was repetative and 90% was deep fried.
The breakfasts were the best.
A' la carte we tried all 3 and all were fine. I probably prefered the chinese.
Pools were ok although there were ants every where.
We always got sunbeds around pool as our friend went out about 8pm to get them.
some of the shops ok I'd recommend the ones nr the pool they seem friendlier and less desperate to sell u stuff.
I did suffer for almost the full 2 weeks with a dodgy stomach as did my partner. My son and the other family we travelled with were fine.
My son and the other families son caught chicken pox whilst there.
In the entertainment area (the amputheatre) i wasn't impressesed with the entertainment I thought this was quite a dangerous area for kids. We were there one night when someone shouted for a fist aider and the entertainers were asking if anyone in audience were trained doctors, nurses or paramedics. Luckily there were someone this din't give me much faith at all.
Apparently there were gastrenteritus going round. My partner stopped eating there and we atrated going to mcdondalds which is bad when we paid for all inclusive. We even stopped drinking anything.
We spent most of our time at the roof top terrace this was much better for our son as we took his football out and he'd play with that, then we would be just round the corner from our room. I don't understand why they put families with small children and prams on 3rd floors with no lifts.
We had a problem with safe and security guard wouldn't leave our room without a tip. That was very intimidating. First choice satff and entertainers were great Wath out for the clown he's so funny.
We were told in one of the shops nr fist choice office we couldn't haggle as it was a hotel shop.
Another told us why haggle we were english so we were rich.
Snorkelling was fantastic but you can only snorkle from your own hotel jetty, don't try the others you get to the end then told you can't cos your not from that hotel. The all inc bands give you away.
Visa's are a con. If you do the excursions through first choice such as scuba diving then you don't need a visa cos they don't take you past the border. Although if you travell to the pyramids you will still need a visa.
If you going in a standard room you won't get a kettle either although first choice told me before I went I would.
Zip wire and leap of faith worth doing and take plenty of money for Bingo 120 egyption ponds for a strip of 6 and take sterling with you you will get a better exchange rate although you will have to go bank a 10 mins walk away to change travellers cheques.
Worth walking 15 mins to the metro shop and go up hotel trades entrance as it's easier.
We did go on red sea family cruise booked through fist choice which was well worth going on. Boats were clean food ok but basic, Divers fantasticly patient and informative about sea life when snorkelling. As a weak swimmer one of the divers told me to hang onto float and was happy to drag me round fo 40 mins always waving under the water and pointing certain fish and corals out then telling me what they were.
Keep some of the hand sanitising gel with you at all times as money is filthy and too many bugs flying round to risk not using it.

just got back from holiday village red sea on the 22 october and reading previous reports dont think i been to the same hotel.myself husband and five year old daughter ate and drank everything and none of us were ill.the food was fab so much choice fresh omlettes cooked for brekkie also fried eggs were spoilt for choice.went to the ala carte restaurants liked the medditeranean the best.never have we been to a place where the staff are so friendly and helpfull and no they are not just after a tip and yes we have travelled a lot.rooms were large plenty of room and wardrobe space, the only down side to people with pushchairs if you are on a high foor are the steps to your room.i must agree with other comments sbout the bathrooms they are clean and ok but the grouting in the shower area could do with a freshen up but dont worry nothing drastic.some people say the pool is cold but honestly when you lying around and its nearly 100 degrees you need it to be cool so get a grip everyone,as for the ants around the pool area yes there are some but not a problem and if you dont like them that much sit somewhere where the ants are not there is lots of room.we call the germans for putting out the towels to say this is mainly a british hotel there was lots of it going on we never bothered and always got a lounger whenever we needed one no trouble at all..the kids club is good they really look after your children, never left my daughter in one before but she really enjoyed it and was asking to go so gave us alittle time of our own.the entertainment is the usual tongue in cheek stuff but the team try really hard and its all good fun.you do get a lot of COME AND LOOK AT MY SHOP when you go outside the hotel but a firm no thank you does the job and the people never touch you by grabbing your arm or anything like that.the customer service staff were always chatting to people to see why they chose their hotel if their rooms were ok etc seemed really interested which made a change.there is a cash point in the hotel so you dont have to go outside we took egytian cash with us and some english you can pay for lots in english you get a good rate from the machine so you no need to bother with the fuss of exchanging travellers cheques at the bank.the only thing i would advise people not to do is go on the quad bikes on the beach in front of the hotel one lady had her foot ran over when we were there she got her foot trapped had to go to the hosital and ended up with crutches rest of the hol although i must stress they arent anything to do with the hotel and they are trying to get rid of them.also you must go and see bob the camel on the beach he is the friendlist camel ever my daughter loved him still having tears at home now cos she misses him.there are ump teen places to get snacks at lunh time including fresh pizzas a snack bar on the beach ice creams and pop corn for the kids all in all great hol and would definitely return again hopefully in april.see you all soon and lisa if you reading this i am the lady who told you about this site.see you soon xx

I think i must have been staying at a different hotel than the people that have done the negative reports. I wouldn't call myself a snob but i do like a high standard when i go on holiday and have travelled worldwide and wouldn't stay any less than 4 star , and this hotel was that !
The flights where terrible , which is what i now expect from a package holiday flight , the usual cramped conditions , too cramped for a 6 hour flight.
On arrival we were offered an upgrade into a better room . The room was great in block 5 right beside the main pool and not far from the restaurant.
The room was huge and cleaned daily and clean towels .The hotel staff were very friendly and i was never presurred for a tip.
The food was great, plenty of variety and we had no illness , apart from mosquito bites .
I would recommend that people supervise their children better , i noticed lots of kids wondering about the food picking stuff up then putting it back , maybe where the stomach bugs are coming from , children with dirty hands !We was at the holiday village in Turkey last year and we were fine , but the kids were the same there , blame the parents.
The hotel grounds are lovely , and the staff work very hard to keep them that way.
A great holiday , would definatly return .

Loved this hotel. Staff are excellent and work very hard so they deserve tips and are pleased no matter how much they get.

Food was unreal and if you have read any bad comments about that...Dont pay them any attention.

The beach area is top notch. The beach bar staff are great and bring drinks over to you so you dont even have to walk the few steps across to the bar.

I highly reccommend a trip to the wellness centre to get pampered. Prices are very reasonable and the servive is excellent.

Couldnt say a bad word about this hotel and cant wait for my return!!!

We Stayed at the Holiday Village for 11 days and they were the longest of my life,
When we arrived i noticed that there were small notes up saying that the Fire Alarms were not working in our Block which was block 14 OH MY GOD, the view we had from our balcony was overlooking the laundry bay of the hotel opposite, not the best view by far, at the end of our corridor was piles of rubbish that was there for out entire stay even after reporting it to the guty that cleaned our rooms, well the guy who was supposed to clean out room( floor was not moped for the first 4 days anf we had to request beds to be changed.
As for the rest of the complex this is defo not a 4 star is best a 2 star blackpool and there was Fag ends all around the pool area and rubbish which was carrying in the water (DISGUSTING).

The quite pool had some kind of lino around teh top of the pool which was peelin off and floating in the water
we appraoched the rep about this but they were not interested and told us the 4 star egyptian standard is diffrent to 4 star standards in other countries, but they just seemed to accept the poor up keep of the complex and since this complex is only 2 yrs old god help it in another 2 yrs , they will have to totally renovated it , WOULD NEVER RETURN TO HOLIDAY VILLAGE and people who rate this the best holiday ever must have very low standards.

kids entertaiment worked really hard and my 5yr old had a great time, but he is to young to notice the bad things, would also like to mention that when you get complimentary water in your room the dates are out on them so be warned and they also reuse the white beaker cup that they have salvaged from the bins , give them a quick wash and reuse (DISGUSTING )

We stayed all inclusive for 7 nights, the hotel is spotless, the grounds are beautiful and well kept. the food is good, not a great choice in the a la carte restaurants but what they do have is good. the location is terrific, 15 mins from airport, 20 mins from naama bay and positioned right on the beach. the staff are so very friendly expecially ramy and teeto (mohammed) the towel boys at the main pool. islam the barman at the main pool is also excellent. the entertainment in the ampitheatre is very cheesy and to be honest i have heard better singers at the local pub karaoke night but they do put in a massive effort, every night on the roof top terrace their is a quiz and entertainment aimed more at the adults

The truth is this hotel is not all is cracked up to be. First room we had was in block 14, which is the worst block in the hotel with poor views, and some friends we met looked over the laundry rooms. Our room had two single beds and a camp bed.
First Choice reps did not care and advised that
