The entertainment was unbearable.
Give us Morocco or Tunisia any time.

The location was good, a short walking distance to "phantasia" a shopping bazzar. The beach was disappointing however as it was small & completely covered in sunshades & sunbeds (a bit too benidorm for my liking) plus it was quite a walk down steps to get to it & as there were not any toilets down there (due to government regulations) it meant that it was a long walk if you needed the toilet.
However on a positive note the coral & fish were amazing & snorkeling here was better than in The Maldives.
The staff on a whole were nice with plenty of activities during the day if you wanted to join in. However the evening entertainment was poor, best to go out at night.

Rooms were spotless, fresh sheets, pillowcases and towels provided every day.
The pool area was delightful and set in immaculate flower filled gardens.
There was an abundance of loungers both at the pool and the beach and freshly laundered beach towels were supplied on a daily basis.
Staff were very friendly and hardworking, keeping the whole complex in tip top condition.
The food was excellent with a wide choice throughout the day and there was a large variety of drinks always available.
The cliff top location overlooking the small private beach and the crystal clear waters of the red sea was
quite breathtaking.
We all enjoyed this holiday immensely, especially the two children who spent most of their time either in the pool (heated to 28 degrees) or snorkelling in the warm sea.
Highly recommended.

We spent most of the holiday by the pool or at the beach snorkelling (although Thomas Cook offered many trips out and around Egypt)- there were some fantastic fish - all friendly and brightly coloured. If you are going to go snorkelling I recommended you get an under-water camera!
The hotel was the cleanest I'd ever been in - the staff were even sweeping up leaves by the pool!
At night we only ate at 1 of the 2 restaurants within the complex, called the 'Medina' and the food was 110%! I couldn't fault anything. At lunch-time you would go to the 'pool bar' which served every thing - pizza, pasta, salad, meat and even chips - the food in all the restaurants is fine for children!
The staff at the hotel were always so cheerful always singing and talking to you to make sure you were o.k.
The hotel entertainment was based for children and was also quite amusing for the adults- it was held in an amphitheatre which was always warm and over looked the sea.
There were different themed shows each night.
We all would love to visit this wonderful hotel again!

From check in to departure nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff we met at the hotel. The staff cleaning our room were friendly, helpful and always willing to help.
The grounds of the hotel were again a joy to behold an army of gardeners working to maintain the grounds to a very high standard, I would imagine at the height of the season a glorious perfusion of scents would assault the senses.
Front of house staff were efficient and very knowledgeable, free safety deposit facilities was an added bonus.
The choice of food was vast with a different theme every day, I would defy anyone not to find something to their taste at any of the three main restaurants on site. Our particular favourite for the evening was the Gazelle smaller than the Medina with a very laid back atmosphere.
The glory of the whole hotel is the location with a small private beach with its own beautiful coral reef (This is reached by a sloping pathway or a set of steps). Just 6ft from your sunbed you start to encounter the rich profusion of sea life that is part of the beautiful Red Sea.
The hotel from the Manager down to the bell boys made our stay so special my wife and I have already booked to go back in 2006, the first time we have ever done that!

The security was great, food and drinks all excellent with an exceptional choice, even the lighthouse keeper was great company and very friendly!
Have recommended it to our friends and will definately be going back.

The staff were very friendly and courteous and the cleanliness was second to none. The location of this hotel was superb overlooking the Red Sea, with a short walk down to a shingle beach from which snorkelling was the main water sport with fantastic fish of many colours and sizes.
The food was very good with a wide choice of dishes, the only downside was the entertainment in the evening which was very poor, but we had a choice of bars and met some really nice people and made our own fun.
We certainly had a great holiday and will be going back next year.

We requested a 'Garden View' so we ended up away from the main hotel area (5 mins walk) but this meant we had an apartment type room with sitting room, small kitchen and loads of space (apparently this is the 'residence' section).
The hotel was beautifully presented, the pool area was very nice - it was very difficult to find fault. The staff were very friendly and the AI option was truly AI.
The beach and pool area has masses of sun beds, so no need to get up early. The food was nice and in plentiful supply. The local alcoholic drinks were far more palatable than at the dreams beach, and the coctails were lovely - bar staff are friendly and willing to mix any drink you like.
There is a free courtesy bus which runs to Naama bay and ols Sharm about 6 times per day.
Only negative I can think of is the cleanliness of the rooms - there was dust in the corners, the sofa in the sitting room was grubby and the rugs were stained.

The staff were friendly and always tried to please. An excellent location although a steep climb from the beach with the nearest loo at the top of the cliff.
Will definately be returning in 2005 hopefully for xmas again.

Our room, although not huge was cleaned and made up beautifully by the staff each day - we often came back to the room to find our clean towels made in to shapes such as swans, and placed on the bed with petals around them - very romantic!
The food was plentiful and varied with a good choice.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and great fun too - they took great delight in mimicking the many British accents that they have come across!
We would certainly highly recommend Club Fanara and Sharm el Sheikh as a whole - it's a truly beautiful place and we certainly hope to go back.
