This is a superb hotel. Its quite new, on Google Earth its a huge brown building site between other hotels. Its even bigger since Oct 2011 when the magnificent new reception opened. 300 staff work very hard to keep this place in pristine order.
The area is windy and the jetty over the reef was frequently closed.
We thought the food was good and service in the 4 Al a Carte restaurants was excellent. We don't like sushi so didn't visit this one which is not included on the AI package. The wine generally is not great.
We visited quite a few other hotels but this one stands out, the grounds really are beautiful. The beach here is fine pale sand but its not possible to swim. The reef starts right at the waters edge.
This was our first time in Egypt and we chose the right place to stay.

The first thing I must tell you is that the hotel is twice the size I expected it to be, when I booked it the brochure quite clearly stated 196 rooms and 136 suites.
When I arrived my heart sank and I discovered that in fact there are nearly 800 rooms!
Our room was very good, spacious and positioned in a quiet area, bathroom was very well appointed.
It was extremely well maintained by the cleaning person and towels etc changed daily.
Mini bar only had water in it but that suited us fine.
The entire grounds were kept immaculate including the 17 pools ! It is well laid out, pretty much in a circle with reception at the very top ,all the rooms made the outside of the circle , then all the different size and shape pools in another circle with the suites in the middle of an island, accessed by walkways.
All the restaurants are in one area, there is one main huge one which I would not recommend to anyone (but that is only my opinion).
There is a very good small restaurant for FC customers and they can use it for breakfast and lunch, in the evening it becomes one of the 4 A La Carte restaurants (Chinese being the best) but all very good.
The hotel says you can only use these once per stay but we used them every evening for 2 weeks and not once were we refused.
