This is the third visit to this Hotel in as many years. We have found everything here that you could wish for in a holiday. Starting with the Reception when you arrive, promt, efficent and curteous.

Room very cleanspotless with Room Stewards always there for anything you may require. All the Resturants are excellent with food choice good, hot and pleanty. We eat most nighyts in our room, which was great.

The Room Service is always of the highest quality, food hot when it arrives, presentation perfect down to the lighted candel.

All you do is open the Balcony doors and have a moon lit romantic meal watching the Nile. The sunsets are brilliant.

I would recommend this Hotel to everyone. The only comment a can't make is on the entertainment as we are always watching the peacefull surroundings from our room.

On entering the hotel lobby it was apparent that this was a really good quality hotel. The chandelier in lobby just bowls you over and I spent an amusing time in the lobby prior to departure watching everyone walk into the hotel looking skyward. I really have never seen anything like it before. Everywhere is not only spotless but positively gleams.

Although we had breakfast and lunch in the hotel we actually only had one evening meal in the hotel but there were lots of dishes to choose from even a Japanese breakfast (very international). All meals were without question thoroughly enjoyed.

Located on the edge of the shopping centre ideal for souvenir hunting, bars and restaurants everything is so cheap.

The hotel is built on the banks of the Nile and rooms or overlooking or have a side view. We had a side view and it was a panoramic one of the Nile winding through Luxor so we did not mind not having one overlooking the Nile.

The staff are friendly and will run a mile for you if required. When my door card did not work one literally run to reception for me to get it re programmed.

There was some entertainment a singer who was quite good on the couple of nights that we stayed in the hotel but with so many pubs and bars about just outside the hotel we were often out at night.

We were so impressed that we plan to treat ourselves to and extra holiday this year at the Sonesta St George and are planning to go back in January or February not bad eh 3 - 4 months since we came back. That

the hotel is 5 star and worth every one of them!set overlooking the nile,a pontoon set with tables and chairs, soft classical music playing and sit and watch the sun set over the palm trees on the west bank.the hotel and pool area are spotless, free pool towels ,sunbeds and umbrellas and very willing staff to help you find the right spot to catch the rays! pool service for drinks and lunch superb.eating in the hotel is a pleasure, the japanese restaurant is wonderful, treat yourself to the special tepenyaki ,cooked infront of you yummy!!.the restaurant out side serves a kind of turkish/mediterranean menu beware you will eat far to much, the fresh bread is too good for words.staff fantastic can,t do enough for you.our room overlooked the nile and you could see the valley of the kings, even clearer with binoculars.hotel in good spot for all the sights.we took an eary morning hot air balloon ride, what a treat, anyone who thinks its not for me try it,it was the highlight of the holiday ,things look so different from the air,you really do feel like a bird.overall one of the best hotels l have stayed in,forgot to mention they also do great massages, great after you have climbed up and down all those steps in the tombs, and very reasonable.for such a classy hotel prices allround were very, very good.l know you will enjoy this hotel go for it!!

Visited the Sonesta St George for dinner just after it opened and were so impressed we really didn't think we would be able to afford to stay there on a future visit to Egypt. How wrong we were! This hotel offers the lap of luxury in delightful surroundings. The rooms are extremely clean and not at all small after all the more time you spend in your room the less you have for exploring this wonderful country, and your every whim is catered for - you only have to ask. Each restaurant has its own uniqueness and the staff can not do enough for you. The hotel is situated overlooking the Nile and far enough away from the main area of Luxor to maintain a tranquil location.

We would not consider staying anywhere else in Luxor having previously stayed at the Sheraton and not being impressed by the Old Winter Palace which is need of some attention.

Already booked up for 2005 and cannot wait to return.

Although it was some time since we stayed here I saw that there was no report. This hotel is beautiful, we have been to Luxor 5 times and always stayed at the winter palace but decided to stay here one year as we had watched it being built, we were not disappointed. The pool area is beautiful, next to the Nile.
The room is a little on the small side but adequete when you get use to it. The decor and overall appearance of the hotel is beautiful and quite luxurious.
There is a lovely pub/bar that overlooks the Nile and is nice for a relaxing drink. I think most hotels in Luxor do not really cater with entertainment after all this is not Spain!
