Our National Coach Holiday to Jersey had an overnight stop in Bournemouth at the Carrington Hotel both going and returning home. As soon as we arrived I knew that the Hotel would be disgusting as it belong to the Britannia Group. Yes our room was large but filthy, found a filthy sock covered in dirt been there for months by the look of it, the lampshades thick with dust, the carpet filthy the chairs disgusting, the top of the wardrobe skirting boards absolutely filthy. The curtains the net ones especially look they had never been washed since year dot. Wallpaper torn all over paint work and doors never seen water, toilet roll holder broken, the water in the washbasin came from the base of the tap instead of the tap itself. The stairs all taped up with black masking tape and the corridors were absolutely horrendously filthy, I took photos in the room but never got them of the stairs.
The staff not very helpful either,,their English not very good. They obviously don’t hire cleaners. National Holidays obviously do not check the Hotels they use. I shall always now check that if National Holidays use any Britannia Group Hotels I shall not book. We were also not informed that our Coach would not be taking us to Jersey and had to have cases taken off the Coach at Poole. National Holidays catering for disabled customers leaves a lot to be desired. I know people say you get what you pay for but we do not pay for Disgustingly filthy Hotels. On a lighter note the Hotel Ambassador Hotel on Jersey was brilliant, clean and gorgeous food. Come on National Holidays get your act together and stop treating your Customers like second Class Citizens. Remember we your customers pay your wages.
