we booked into the city inn over night to enjoy the manchester night life. we were very impressed with the hotel. it is very clean, comfortable and modern. the staff are very friendly and helpful and upheld a very professional image at all times. it is only minutes walk from picadilly train staion and a minutes walk to the start of canal street. we would recommend this hotel and definately stay here again. many thanks for the welcome hospitality, gize and janet, rotherham.

Had a fab time at the city inn. Hotel is directly across from Picadilly station. Check in was quick and we were allocated our room on floor 8. Room was lovely everything new and clean. Bed was 2 singles pushed together. Had the entertainment system in our room and was told by reception that we could borrow dvds to watch, as we were only here for the 1 night we didnt bother. The breakfast was cooked to order, which i would have preferred self service. it was nice though but took some time to arrive as it was busy. Would definetly visit the city inn again.

Booked this hotel because we had arranged to visit close friends in Manchester and see their relatives who were staying with them so could not stay with the friends. I have stayed at the Marriott (near Granada Studios) before and got good deals and could not understand why prices were high for this weekend and very little availability as I had already checked the football fixtures, turns out that it was the Labour Party Conference that weekend (doh). This hotel was more expensive for the Saturday night than the Friday and it was only because we already had train tickets booked that I did not move the trip to another date. Anyway, enough rambling, despite the cost I have to say this hotel was brilliant, we cannot praise the staff enough, very attentive, even to our visitors. Although we had not booked breakfast decided to give it a try on the Saturday morning and went back on the Sunday morning, it was so nice to have your breakfast cooked for you, not just left on hot plates. It is very close to the station, about a 1 minute walk. If you want a treat or can get a good deal it is definitely worth a visit.
