We booked a three day holiday at the la tour hotel for a relaxing weekend the driver did not give us much information on when we would be picked up on the Sunday . The room was not very good and the melamine was lifting off the units.
We were assured there was a lift to all floors but after one day it broke down so we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs which was not easy as l have just had an hip replacement food everything which peas and chips.
Will not book again with national holidays.

Rooms needed cleaning and dusting, the food was atrocious and when we relayed this to the manager, his reply was was we were the first ever to complain!
For the rest of our stay he was childislh. When the one happy waitress was talking with us he demanded to know what we were saying. He and our coach driver had a fight and the police were called.
The only good point was.. check in ,which was great. Sorry and the location.Don't spend hard earned cash on la tour. The big sign advertising karaoke is lies too and don't forget to purchase your raffle tickets for a minibus for a school on just his say so. I like to know details of where my money is going.

I travelled to Blackpool within a local Charity Group, and there were 13 people in our party. We were booked into the LaTour Hotel. I can highly recommend this Hotel for short breaks and holidays to Blackpool and will definitely stay there again on any future visit to Blackpool. It is disabled and family friendly and if you let the Hotel know in advance you can also take your four legged pets with you. Not many hotels are 'pet friendly' but the LaTour is one that is.
Location: Right in the heart of Blackpool within easy short walking distance of many local attractions including the Winter Gardens and Blackpool Tower. The Shopping Centre is also virtually on the 'doorstep'. The Hotel does not have its own Car Park, but there are several car parks nearby and if you are a 'Blue Badge' holder, there is on street parking on the opposite side of the road to the Hotel.
Reception/Check-In: Reception is bright and airy and spacious, and check-in itself is very fast and straight forward. There is a lift and wheelchair access.
Rooms: I was booked into a single smoking room, but I had access to all other rooms in our party. All rooms are spacious, cleaned on a daily basis and include a television with remote, tea and coffee making facilities, an alarm clock radio and a hair dryer. All rooms are en-suite. The Hotel does adopt a non-smoking policy but some rooms are set aside for smoking, although I understand this may change to all non-smoking in the future.
There are radiators in all rooms with a thermostat that can be controlled by guests to obtain their own required temperature. Towels are changed only if you leave wet/dirty towels on the floor in the bathroom. This is an energy-saving exercise by the Hotel and they are to be commended. There is plenty of space in all rooms for luggage, wheelchairs etc.
Staff: All the staff that I came into contact with were very professional, polite and friendly and make you feel very welcome. The Hotel Owner/Manager (Una), herself, greets you in the Dining Room on your first night.
Dining Room & Food: The Dining Room is located in the basement of the hotel, but is bright, spacious, clean and very airy. Breakfast is part buffet, part waiter service. Cereals, and fruit juices are served buffet style and you help yourself to as much as you want. Traditional hot meals (full English) are brought to your table by the waiting staff. Food was served very quickly considering the ratio of staff to guest numbers. Tea and coffee, and toast is in abundance.
There is a choice of food from a Menu for your evening meals and I have to say this hotel cooks some of the best food I have ever eaten in a UK Hotel. Three courses are on offer.
Entertainment: The Hotel provides entertainment most evenings in its own Bar, and is some of the best hotel entertainment I have ever seen. Bar games are also on offer, including a variation on Bingo that involves playing cards instead of numbers and they call this 'Hoi'. Karaoke is also available but I think you do need to request it. Raffles are also held with proceeds going to local charities.
Security: There are no security staff but the Hotel front entrance is locked at night, however, you are provided with a 'latch' key in addition to your room key so that you can let yourself in if you plan on staying out very late or into the early hours of the morning.
I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone looking to stay somewhere in Blackpool, but if you have children and are only going for Pleasure Beach and that sort of entertainment, well the hotel is some distance from these attractions and you may need to take a tram if you don't have your own transport
But this is a 'gem' of a hotel, right in the 'heart' of Blackpool and I will return myself if ever I visit Blackpool again.
