Beautiful location and accommodation
1 year 3 months ago
Caravan was lovely with beautiful sea views there was plenty of activities for the children and some lovely walks close by for the dogs also a small clean beach although there was a fair few jelly fish but this could not be helped. The only negative was that the staff weren't very friendly no manners at all not one please or thank you, maybe this is the norm and because I'm from such a small close nit village I'm not used to it. Other than that it's a fantastic location for a few days away.

Disappointing accommodation standard

After a visit In July 2017 with family we fell in love with Haven Reighton Sands!! We had paid for a prestige upgrade and were allocated the silverwoods C24 perfect in every way, modern, clean, sea view, balcony. After such a fabulous break we decided to re-book for October half term. We thought we’ll pay for upgrade again but we have been hugely let down and left very disappointed (Oakwood B5).

The comparison is huge and snags reported first day and again 2nd only the shower hose fixed to date from this list; cobwebs, thick dust and grease extractor hood, rusty radiators, no mattress protector on beds just a fitted sheet, no hoover or long handled sweeping brushes, hole in curtain on bedroom with light bright in as curtain poles set too far off wall, curtain pole end missing, stains on kitchen blind, heating booster not working, only 1 baking tray and 1 Pyrex, mould/mildew On shower, toilet hinges not cleaned in a while!!

I have done majority of cleaning and bleaching but left several jobs reported to be corrected. I appreciate the age of caravans vary hence should the standards this is by no means a silver rating never mind prestige! If it wasn’t for the kids I would be tempted to go home and never return very disappointed.

A slice of 'Haven'

This was our first stay at a commercial holiday park, I admit that before this stay we were rather reluctant of this type of holiday and imagined it would be like a youth club on the doorstep at all hours and all 'go go go' which isn't our kind of thing!
HOWEVER we wanted to stay somewhere where there was enough going on to entertain our young son and we had already had a holiday in Spain earlier in the year so funds were lacking but we needed a break, so off we went to Haven Reighton Sands.

Now on to the holiday park. Well it is fair to say that I was WRONG! I was definitely pleasantly surprised, admittedly we were there just as schools were starting back so perhaps we missed the rush but there were still plenty of children on site to keep my little man happy and enough going on to tire him out (pool, golf, kids clubs and plenty of sports).

There is a 'Spar' shop on site, not the cheapest but what you expect from a place like this and of course the onsite pub 'Mash and Barrell'. I wasn't expecting Michelin star cuisine but the 'pub grub' was good enough to satisfy our hunger after our action packed days. The site was kept pristine by the hard working staff, I couldn't fault any of them, even on days where the weather let us down and the waterproofs came out the staff still had smiles on their faces!

We stayed in a caravan (obviously) which belongs to a friend of the family so I cannot comment on the caravans you would 'hire' from Haven but from speaking to other holiday makers on the site they told me their caravans were spotless and very modern and that if they had any issues a member of the Haven team would be straight round to sort it out.

Great value for money

I went camping here with my husband and cousin and we had a fabulous time! For what it cost to stay for a night the facilities were excellent and we were very impressed!

The campsite is very well maintained and you are in close proximity to all the local attractions, although there would be no need to leave the campsite because the family entertainment is really good!! The bar and dance floor area have a lovely atmosphere.

The swimming pool is a great size and is a wonderful way to spend a sunny day!

I would thoroughly recommend this place as a great value for money family holiday!

A cheap family getaway before our holiday abroad. Hmmmmm not so cheap, the caravan was private and paid for throuh eBay at a cost of 350 pounds. Not bad for August, but once you are on site miles from nowhere you pay through the nose. For a start the fun works passes are very expensive, allowing you enter into the club house to spend money on slot machines and over priced drinks. The shows are so so at best and the restraunt, well we didn't bother. The pool is dated but just the right depth for the little ones with an outdoor slide. Our kids loved it. the on site store opens late for a camp site but yet again is way over priced, buy before you arrive.

Now the best part is its location, this bit of the country is fantastic, with some great coast lines. The kids were in the sea most days and enjoyed the beach. All in all we enjoyed our week on the east coast but the UK doesn't have a clue when it comes to family fun like the Spanish or the Greeks do. We have a lot to learn about putting on a good show.

This was our first visit to a Haven Park and I can honestly say it will certainly be our last!

The caravan was filthy when we arrived, dirty work surfaces, used earbuds on the floor and the state of the toilet was too bad for words. We spent the first day of our holiday cleaning.

The only good thing about Haven Reighton Sands is the beach and luckily the weather was fantastic so we didnt have to spend too much time in the caravan.
