We have stayed here several times and also travelled here alone for spa break and also for few nights on business trips during past 5 years.
Crown Hotel has private paid car park at back or free parking at front spacious very cosy selection of rooms ones with wonderful sea view rooms and telescopes are front sea view ones, some upgraded, the highest priced ones are on fifth floor or have television above bath and fireplace. The are very large, comfortable, and have very clean beds/rooms. The back bedrooms are cheapest and smaller but very nice with street, garage and car park views.
The 4 star beautiful Crown Hotel high up above sea n gardens, n theatre, beaches, has large bar coffee daytime snacks room large reception friendly well trained professional yet friendly helpful receptionists various small quiet dining rooms eating areas with plentiful breakfasts, lot of choices and for extra expense the offer full board. For evening meal there are lots of pizza, pasta, fish. Some meals quite pricey but bar snacks are cheaper, as is Scarborough's KFC and nearby pizza shops. There is a very good Italian restaurant nearby. Crown has excellent spa swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna steam ice room foot spa and lovely indulgent mud facials or massages detox wraps in their beauty treatment room. There is also good gymnasium.
Scarborough has some of the worst hotels and ones to avoid are The Grand Hotel, The Royal Hotel, RedLea Hotel. The Royal in Whitby Bagdale hall is best one in Whitby and is suppose to be haunted too, but the Crown is Scarborough's loveliest hotel.
