We spent a week at Griffon Forest Lodges in June 2007, staying in a Gardeners Lodge. When we booked our holiday, all the reviews we had seen had been glowing, so we were slightly concerned when there was a crop of bad reviews just before we went. Our concerns proved to be unfounded, however, as we had a really lovely time there.
The staff were helpful and friendly when we arrived at reception and we waited a matter of minutes for someone to come round and show us how to operate the hot tub. One of the wooden recliner chairs turned out to be broken and was replaced the day we reported it. We couldn

These lodges are perfect for a romantic getaway. They were very clean and cosy and warm in December.
The location was in the middle of a forest and very quite. The staff were very helpful and understanding when I rang to say we were stuck in traffic.
We had a poachers lodge which was open plan with a cosy seating area with sat tv and dvd a nice kitchen, dining area with everything you need for cooking, a seperate bedroom area with a huge fourposter, a six foot round spa bath and double sink unit the lodge also had a seperate toilet and shower room.
Outside is decked with patio furniture, bbq and a sunken hottub which was the highlight for us, to sit in the hot bubbles drinking champagne when there is snow on the ground is so relaxing.
When you arrive there is champagne on ice, fresh flowers and belgium chocolates which is a nice touch.
