Loved it! We stayed for 1 night at the Splash Landings hotel.
We vistied the water park on the first day which was excellent. There was loads to do and great rides!
The second day we visited the theme park which was also excellent!
Food was ok, can't wait to go again!

FANTASTIC!!!
especially enjoyed the evening, visited the alton towers hotel for evening entertainment, a lot of fun. Drinks expensive and so we brought our own- worked out best when like us we are young and cant afford the bars high prices.
Everyone was very friendly, especially the staff who were very kind and even joined in when we began our own entertainment with rendenditions of popular karaoke classics - proved to be very fun, although we were a bit tipsy!
i just didnt want to leave
I visited the hotel twice in the space of a month and cant wait to return again!

Have visited this hotel twice now, and loved it both times. It has a "Caribbean" theme which works quite well, and extends to the entertainment as well as the rooms & public areas. Rooms are a reasonable size, with bunks for the kids, and a good size bath/shower area.
meals are buffet type, and the dinner looks expensive, but it is an "eat as much as you like" affair, so it can turn out not so bad.
The attached "water park" is brilliant (I prefer it to the rides!)and is open later taht the park, so you can do both in one day.

just had a brilliant weekend at this hotel - so thought would share with you...
right next door to the splash landings hotel, the Alton towers hotel is the more 'elegant' of the two whilst the splash is more 'themed'.
rooms very comfortable - double bed, bunk beds, tea/coffee, hair dryer, tv (some sat channels).
free entry into the cariba springs waterpark which is situated between the hotels and you can walk across from one to the other without going outside!
Waterpark very good - not as big as many but plenty to do for an hour or so, very warm - includes indoor and outdoor slides.
Restaurant - the Secret Garden in the Alton Towers hotel, a bit pricey but very large portions - so big I couldn't eat. We much preferred the buffet style in the Splash Landings hotel - far more choice and eat as much as you like.
Breakfast has to be taken in your own hotel, this was a full english plus all the usual yoghurts, fruit, toast, danish, cereals, etc., etc., strange looking scrambled eggs though - no fried eggs as far as I am aware. Brekky comes on a skillet and put in the middle of the table and you help yourselves.
Characters wandering around the hotels frequently - very disney like but very nicely done.
All hotel staff seem to say hello to you as you walk around - very pleasant.
Grounds of hotel are beautiful - took loads of photos.
Entertainment in the evening in Alton Towers Hotel very good - treasure hunt, magic show etc., for children, Mr & Mrs and that sort of thing for adults.
Only thing is - but what else can you expect - lots of banging doors - wish they would put those things on that make the doors shut a bit more quietly!!
And on to the theme park...........
as a part of our stay we booked tickets for the theme park at reception - this entitled us to early entry to the park - although only two rides open at this time are Air and Nemesis - both of which my two boys can't go on because they are too small - so we spent an hour walking around a theme park which had nothing open at all - not even to get a drink!!! Very sore point because it was a bit chilly and nowhere to warm up.
However, on the positive side, our tickets gave us priority access to some of the rides, which meant going in the exit and avoiding the queues - we also did 'baby swap' for those rides which Spencer didn't want to go on or he was too short - saved queueing up.
Another however...... it appears that some people had vouchers e.g. Tesco for reduced ticket prices. There were some arguments in the reception because these must be redeemed at the main park gates and will not give you any of the early access or priority ride benefits. People were not happy about that.
Another however, the park is not supposed to open to the public until 10 but it does often open earlier - although the rides aren't open (apart from the two above) but you can get in the queues for the other rides.
We were absolutely knackered after walking around - it is exhausting but one day was plenty for us to do all we wanted to do. The park shut at 5.00pm. Plenty of places to eat/drink - mcd's , pizza hut, kfc, doughnuts, fish and chips etc., etc.
All in all a brilliant weekend. Highly recommended.

This is a fabulous hotel and would recommend it to any one. I would say though if you are not taking children I would go mid week out of season as the price difference is a lot, and the park is quieter. Also my only bad comment about the hotel is that although it is aimed a family's I felt they should have a bar away from all the entertainment and children where adults could unwind and relax after walking round the park all day. Cariba Creek is fantastic, really hot and the slides and spa pools were great. I enjoyed this so much I have booked in again for another 2 nights this year
