Eurocamp = Human Excrement!!!!
We left La Baume campsite today 6 days early because it was so awful.
We have stayed with Eurocamp before in Languedoc and really enjoyed it. So much so that we booked again and even invited grandparents along with us this time. But we were sorely disappointed.
We complained several times to both Eurocamp and the camp reception but nothing could be done. Eurocamp’s staff eventually said we could leave and go elsewhere if we could find availability. We looked and looked but there was no availability on other camps. I spent several hours searching online. It was very stressful. In the end we simply booked a hotel nearby at not inconsiderable expense to ourselves.
Unfortunately La Baume campsite is dreadful. It’s advertised as 5 star but it’s not even 2 star.
The bar, snack bar, main toilets and on site kids club are in desperate need of a complete refurbishment. Dark, dirty, thoroughly unpleasant.
The pools and slides are also in need of maintenance. The slides are so old as to be quite dangerous. There’s not enough shallow pool area to play safely. The one kids pool is so densely packed that children regularly fell into one another coming off the slides. It needed to be four times the size for the amount of equipment jammed in. There was no shade st all and you were forbidden from bringing in a parasol. In this day and age of cancer awareness and in a family resort this is frankly absurd. It was unsafe to stay in the pool for more than an hour or so with young children.
The caravans themselves are ridiculously jammed in together so it felt very claustrophobic and cars were everywhere. Again it was unsafe to be there with young children.
It was dirty. In one specific incidence we found a pile of human excrement on a slide in the playground. When we asked reception to clean it the man shrugged his shoulders and said the cleaning lady might look at it tomorrow. In the meantime young children were expected to play around the mess.
I could go on but suffice to say were not happy. Not only have we had to pay out for a hotel but we’ve had a very stressful unpleasant time with our two young children on what should have been a lovely relaxing family holiday.
And Eurocamp’s response......no refund for the nights we didn’t stay and a paltry future discount on another with them!!!!!! I think not.

Stayed in Esprit mobile. ample sleeping accommodation just living space cramped. Spent all our time outdoors. Pools fantastic like a waterpark but without the queues. All teenagers with us 13-15year old and all had a brill time met loads of friends. Only time we seen them was if they were hungry and had no money.Entertainment in French only. Takeaway only really good for pizza. Supermarket on site not too expensive but 5minutes drive a very large Carrefour which you can buy anything in. Not allowed gas or charcoal bbq on site but you are allowed electric bbq. can buy them in Carrefour for about 25euro.
No sunbeds at pools, bit uncomfortable but only negative. Definitely need a car.
