We stayed in Hotel Zum Erdinger Weissbrau for one night before our two week Bavaria trip. We chose this hotel as Erdinger weiss beer is our favourite weiss beer and this hotel was the old brewery. We were going to stay in Muncih City Centre but so glad we found this little gem of a place.

We arrived at Munich airport just after 11am and as had researched that we would need to get a bus from the airport to Erding. In fact as luck would had it the bus was waiting at the stop when we exited the airport. From memory I think the bus journey was around 20 mins.

An easy walk from the bus station we arrived on a beuatiful warm sunny day. Our room was ready so we were able to check in. We had a table booked for evening meal as we had read how popular this hotel was for the food, however as we were very hungry we went downstairs for lunch and had the most wonderful weiner schnitzel with veal. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was the nicest schnitzel we have ever had.

Our room was spacious, well equiped, comfy bed, fabulous power shower and nice flat screen TV. Wifi was available in the room for the very reasonable charge of 2 euros for 24 hours.

After a walk around the town and a wee siesta it was time for our evening meal. Having had a large lunch we both only wanted snacks. The restaurant was very busy and as it was a beautiful evening we sat outside. I had a salad and my husband had Rahmschwammerl which was basically mushrooms in a cream sauce with bread dumpling. He was simply drooling over it. The food and service were excellent. It was wonderful to sit outside and people watch the comings and goings in Erding.

After a great nights sleep it was time to eat again, yes breakfast. There was an excellent buffet with a huge choice of breads, cooked meats, cheeses, salad, salmon etc and also cooked breakfast which were cooked to order. We both had the cooked which set us up for the day.

To summarise this hotel was prefect for us. A great stop over which serves fantastic food and very helpful staff. Next time we need an overnighter in Munich we will without a shadow of a doubt return to this hotel and we look forward to returning in 2011.
