What a shame with this holiday it could of been so much better...

Stansted to Corfu, 3 hrs flight a good start I thought- Arrived about 3.15am - it's 2 hrs in front of our UK time.
I didn't book the coach transfer with the holiday as it seemed cheaper to do it myself and get a Taxi from the Airport once we arrived- 25 euros max at that hour of the morning...10-15 min transfer.

Haha....
Got our cases and headed for the taxi's...but only to see our name and some other families names on a board...(Med-Hotel) All these people go to Lord Travel Office...

All were told that there was a problem with Aqualand Village Hotel and we have to go down South to Kavos (an hours drive away) much better Hotel they said "The Cavo Bianco,"it had it's own beach too but forgot to tell us about the P*ss head clubbers wondering round the hotel lost.
Also had to pay more for the transfer too:-(

All we got from Med-Hotels/Lord Travel was speak to your rep in the morning and she'll tell you what's going on....great we thought????

Well anyway.... we arrived at Cavo Bianco Hotel about 5.30am only to be asked why are we here and there's no room for you..... by 7am a room WAS found, my 3 kids were shattered and fed up just hanging around waiting and worrying.

Got our heads down finally at 7.00am had a quick sleep, up for breakfast at 8.30am and then tried to sort out this mess. I got charged for every call I made BUT good news by 1.15pm a coach arrived and took us back to the the Airport then a taxi from there to to Aqualand Village Hotel.

Our location of our room was great (2205) right opposite the restaurant, close to pools and reception area and evening entertainment and not noisy. Nice enough rooms-proper little kitchen with fridge/freezer, cooker and microwave very handy for my little ones milk at night. Nice little lounge area pull out-sofa with dining table, a 2/3 partion wall seperating the two areas with my double bed leading out to patio area. Good working air-con and FREE, nice power-shower, towels got changed once in the week, extra money for the safe.

Food.......Needs improving not a great choice nor a great deal of thought went into it- twice a week they have a very boring show cooking display which you also get smoked out. More setting area needed unless you like being elbowed in the side or drinks poured down your back by the little people. Shoes and shirts to be worn in restaurant at all times. Ice-cream by pool bar all day long almost- they do nice Ice-cream shakes and there free. Pool bar closes at 6pm and roof top and main reception bars STOP at 11pm on the dot for AI-you can still buy them after then thow.

They need more sun beds as a lot are broken, pool area not cleaned very well sticky under foot for the day before spilt foods and drinks.... Plastic glasses not cleared out of the pools from the kids playing with them.

WATER PARK......Absolutely brilliant so much fun all the family and Meeeeeeeee:-)-all you to do is pick up a new coloured wrist band every day from the front entrance. Show your room key fob and you'll get in FREE!!!! Wave pool was great too.

Hiring a car is a must I'd say if you got a few kids it'll be much cheaper and easier then you can visit anywhere on the Island as it's small. All you need is your photo part full driving license.

We had a problems heading home too. Waited for our coach to come and pick us up at 3.00am as our check in was 3.15am..........We waited and waited 45 mins later I asked the guy that was sleeping at the reception deck what should we do as the coach was late or not coming " he said it will come as you have your ticket"
There's nothing I can do "so he said do..... BUT told me that I could order a taxi- which i did and paid another 25 Euros. Only just made check-in they had all gone through... not queuing which was handy.

WOULD I GO BACK............???? Maybe if they improved on there hygiene and food.

REALLY............It was ok so don't worry to much, if you've booked or haven't found to many good reviews- we never went hungry.

The hotel complex and water park was very clean, the rooms however were not cleaned that well, towels were changed and rubbish removed but floors were not mopped at all during the weeks stay.

We had booked four studio's at the hotel only to find two had been double booked, the only alternative the hotel staff could over was for six of us to share an apt for one night if we did not accept, then we had to make our own alternative arrangements.

The following day we demanded to speak with the hotel manager (not the reservations manager) and rooms were eventually located. Two other families were also affected by this and were offered rooms 10 minutes away from Aqua land.

The food was good, good choice although flies were present on the cold items such as salads, desserts, there were no covers on these. The location of the hotel was about 20 Min's from airport/Corfu town, there was nothing else around the hotel which was OK during the day but on an evening it would have been nice to visit bars other than those on site.

The drinks in the bar on an evening were OK although you are supposed to be limited to 2 per person however we noticed some getting served 4 or 5 at a time so we asked for the same. Drinks after 11.30 pm are expensive.

The hotel staff were OK, not over friendly just acceptable. The entertainment on a night was basic, the staff tried hard, the Greek night was the best. Kids entertainment was good.

Aqualand is located about 20 minutes from Corfu Airport and Corfu Town. It is not by the sea and there are no other bars, shops or tavernas in the vicinity of Aqualand.

We went late in the season, and didn't miss the sea as we had free access the the Aqualand Water Park. (not sure if this is case in high season). The water park and the impressive wave pool easily made up for not being by the sea.

The hotel was not full and although children were there, there were not too many young children to disturb the peace and quiet. (Would imagine this is a very different place in high season).

The complex was well laid out, apartments were nicely furnished and kept clean.

Don't go self catering because there is nowhere to buy even a pint of milk locally. To upgrade from self catering to all inclusive is 22 Euros per adult per day.

The food and drink was plentiful. Some people felt the food was repetative, but each sitting offered a huge selection of salads, fresh fruit and hot dishes and vegetables. Dishes were served lunchtime and evening but there was a huge selection of salads and cold meats etc to enable you to vary your choices from the sometimes repetative selection of foods.

There were no restrictions on the number of drinks you could order at once, and although the bar stopped serving all inclusive drinks at 23.00 hours there was no restriction on the number of times you went to the bar before the free drinks ended. To buy drinks after 23.00 hours was expensive with a short costing 7 Euros.
